Thanks for the reports guys - and KB is a knob, in the 'coming up after 9' preview he repeated that Carlton had won - twice - as if it was so unbelieveable...

He'd be happy talkings to Ratts but would hate the idea of talking positive with him in regards to Carlton.

Setanta - Running winger/HFF, like Waite's previous positions?

I reckon he'd do better on the wing than Waite did.

Had a discussion about this very thing last weekend. Now who would you remove to allow Setanta to play this role and how damaging can he be when comparing him to our alternatives?
For mine the wingers/half forwards will be: Houlihan, Simpson, Gibbs, Murphy, Hadley, Jackson and Betts? How many from this list would Setanta beat for these positions? Bearing in mind I have Pfeffier, Scotland, and Walker in the back half.

His only chance now is to prove himself as a Centre Half Forward, Back Pocket replacing a Bower/Thornton or Forward Pocket. Kruezer, Hartlett and Edwards will probably get first crack at CHF with Cloke pushing all as well.

Nothing against the big fella and love this determination but I just can't see where. I hope he takes the next step and makes a position his own, sooner rather than later.

Thornton played most of his Under 18 football as a forward as I recall - and really only fell into our backline mix during 2002 because we had no-one else over 190cm available to take a key position, he's been there ever since - might be a great mental refreshener for him to have a bit of a spell up forward.

Geoff Southby spent half a season at full forward in 1976 or 1977 - and kicked 30 odd goals - so might do Thornton a world of good.

I could be wrong but wasn't Thornton a midfielder in the under 18s?

Maybe he is intending to have Setanta as a running wingman or half back flanker?

I @#$%&! hate KB to the max............... but he is so spot on the money with this one.
Fev could be a great leader if only he could mature a bit!
