Looks like Fev, Fish, MK/Cloke/Hammer up forward as talls this year. Can both Harts & Jake fit in as well or will one of them miss out? If so, WHO?

TRIAL BOTH!! LET THE BEST MAN WIN!

It's great that we have people line up for games now.

I expect that the players whp prove their worthiness get a game including Judd ( Joke)

I prefer we have a CHF and Harts is the prime candidate IMO

Not really fussed - however the question does emphasize the fact that we are starting to have options and depth.

I recall about 20 years ago we played Geelong down at Geelong and our goalkickers were something like this:

- Kernahan 7
- Sartori 6
- Dorotich 5

John Devine (the Geelong Coach) lamented we had 3 towers that they couldn't do anything about.

But if we had - Fevola, Hartlett taking the best 2 defenders - it would be wonderful to have Fisher, Hampson and Edwards floating around after that - Fisher in particular is going to have a birthday. 8)

i really hope hartlett can get himself right and make himself a permanent fixture in the team this year. the little bits and pieces weve seen of him at senior level have been encouraging. his first half against freo the other week was good and i remember him making a bit bit of an impact in a brief cameo against the dockers last year at subi. hes got the size, is a footballer and has a bit of agro about him.

c'mon harts!

I think both need to be played and given opportunities.......you need depth to be a a succesful club and not relying on too few.
If Fisher gets hurt you want Edwards to step up into his spot, you also want some options and flexibility as well as having players being pressed for their spots and made to work harder.
I'd even run Edwards off half back and broaden his education.......

Hartlett is injury prone and I think you have to expect him to miss a few games and I would be running Kruezer, Cloke and others through CHF.
Game plans, form and injuries will dictate who is playing, where they play in a forward structure doesnt seem to matter much these days.......Buddy Franklin for example just wanders around the forward line where he likes, even a permanent FF like Barry Hall is now being asked to roam with Oloughlin playing out of the square in many games....

Hartlett needs to be injury free, but if he can do so is more important to the structure of the side as stands.

That said, I see Edwards as the replacement for Fev long term, and would hope that he can make five or six cameos in the seniors this year before becoming a permanent fixture in 2009 when we make the finals.

So you mean we trade Fev at the end of this season? :P (sorry couldnt resist)

I think the other player that could fulfill the forward role would be setanta - big, strong, always going to give you a contest and seems to be a reasonable set shot.

With Fish gone for the next couple of months, both will get a chance. Hopefully they can both embrace it.
