This is porbably not an original thought, but... i worry about Carrots and the effect the B&F win might have on his career. A list of the more recent winners explains my concern:

Quote:
2007 Andrew Carrazzo
2006 Lance Whitnall
2005 Anthony Koutoufides
2004 David Teague
2003 Andrew McKay
2002 Corey McKernan
2001 Anthony Koutoufides

2001 Kouta - absolutely killed it that year, did his knee, lost the best of his career.
2002 McKernan - from best player to liability in one season (crossover with the Pagan curse here)
2003 Andy McKay - magnificent year, retired due to friction with the coach?
2004 David Teague - inspirational season, following year never to be seen again...
2005 Koutoufides - decent season in a poor team. Is now a gladiator (QED right there folks...)
2006 Lance Whitnall - decent winner in a weak field - delisted from club at the end of the next season with shoddy knees (not to mention his brother!)
2007 Carrazzo ????

What cursed fate will befall this young man?

The thing with all these B&F Medal winners is that they're all replaceable. If Carrazzo has a bad couple of years (i hope and doubt that he will), we have a few players who could take over his role.

By the way, no such thing as curses. Any wonder that we've had the worst 6 years of our history while these guys all got the axe/retired?

Not for a few years, but you expect Gibbs,Murphy and a few young midfielders with great skills to take his spot. The days of Greg Williams types of players to get 150 games are gone.
