Yes, Sheedy was indeed a thug on the field and encouraged acts of thuggery as a coach.

I dont carry the hatred that others here do, but that doesnt mean that I dont see Kevin Sheedy for who he is.

As a coach, Sheedy underachieved at Essendon*, which in a perverse way, did Carlton a favour - as we are both on 16 flags each.

In the seasons to come, we will see Essendon* experiencing a forgettable period in their history - a number of years of mediocrity and worse, while a reborn Carlton plays in finals.

Sheedy can grow old and senile while he watches this happen.
