I always thought PP was wider than the MCG,
but according to AFL year book 2003

PP 158m x 135m
MCG 159m x 138m

The 1983 year book says

PP 181 yds x 164 yds (165m x 150m)
MCG 189 yds x 163 yds (173m x 149m)

So who know?

Well I for one don't resemble that remark... :P

*The ever supremely-optimistic bloke I am*

One positive of playing at PP again, apart from the obvious benefit to the social club, would be if Carlton/Bullants could approach the VFL in regards to the draw, requesting that the matches there be scheduled during weeks when Carlton is playing interstate (or Skilled Stadium - basically the same thing  )... I know I'd make it down there to see - whether it be the Ants or the Blues ressies - the boys play...

Mitchell should piss off from our club. He's been there for far too long and i don't believe his contribution to the club is as immense as many TC'ers think.

BTW if he's so shit hot why haven't other clubs come calling?

A bit unfair Rod,

Seen as part of the VFL - AFL divide.

Mark Williams has lead Sandy to 3 Premierships in a row and doesn't cause a blip on the AFL radar

I personally want him gone also, but it's up to Ratten and the club.I think it's unfair to get rid of Pagan and not him also, they both had their time and we should move out all the skeletons from the past and look for a change and he should want a crack with another club.

Excellent point, Rambo.

A clean sweep would help us, and ultimately Mitchell too. Move him out of his comfort zone, and see if he really has the goods, and then he could come calling in 3 or 4 years with more skills and experience under his belt.

Mitchell has done nothing to develop our kids in the bullants. Only watching Collingwood last night, Goldsack, Clarke, Pendulbury, Cloke, Thomas made me feel depressed.

Our kids are taking so so long to take shape. Geez I hope this area improves.

I just feel we are so so far away at the moment.

Move Mitchell on, lets start fresh.

Were iles behind the Colingwood academy model... That isnt necesarily Mitchells fault.
It is the clubs fault.. and Kernahan allowing the Mitchell Pagan thing to fester is just another feather in his cap on screwing this club...

cb, when the legends stand was built the dimensions of the ground were changed so that the length of the ground is now the same as the MCG.

Yep before that happened the 50 metre arc at PP was around the 45 metre mark.

How else could Warrick Capper kicked that goal from outside 50 metres in 1989 - which cost Robert Walls his job. :P

Meanwhile, Carlton will soon sign a new five-year agreement with the Northern Bullants after its VFL partner agreed to play five home games a year at Princes Park.

The Blues had been keen to forge a stand-alone VFL side mid-season but, after recent meetings with the Bullants, have indicated they are happy to continue the partnership.

Carlton appoints the Bullants coach, so it can regulate how Blues players are used in the VFL.

Carlton assistant Barry Mitchell led the Bullants last year, but the VFL club is unsure if he will stay on next year with the Blues.

The clubs have agreed on a split that sees four games played at Preston's Cramer St Oval and the rest at Carlton's base.

What I'd like to know now is what the Carlton listed/Bullant listed player ratio is in reference to senior selection policy in games other than when the 12:10 rule applies :?:

I've been really impressed with Collingwood kids, they seem to found real good young players or they eating something that we don't know of plus they look confident and strong.

I don't like these 5 years contract, would be better if it was 2 or 3 the max so if it was going o.k we resign and if not we wouldn't,5 years is a long contract.

Does anyone know why we are not going alone? Finances, lack of infrastructure, waiting until the Academy is up and running?
