Well what I heard at the time of him signing, was that he was offered a 2 year deal of $350 K pa from the Saints. It was also mentioned we guzzumped the offer in terms of dollars and years....some mentioned $380, others mentioned $400 or $450.,,,nevertheless, the Saints were surprised he left given the big dollars he was offered to stay. They hadn't recruited Gardiner at that stage either, Kosi was a wild card, and they had just dumped the anti rucking coach in Thomas....he was a wanted man by the Saints.

So I took the high number, because Ackland is shitting in my and my club's face.

Whether its $350 or $450, I'm guesstimating...who cares...he is costing us a lot of money, 3 years of it and a decent selection we could have made in the past and a pick we would have in the next drafts.

Do you know what he's being paid?

It couldn't be as low or lower than $300 if that's what you're thinking.

He's costing us BIG TIME, no matter which way you look at it.

I have no idea how much he is being paid I presumed it would have been somewhere around $200 - $250k per season for 3 years.

My sources say 250k x 3 yrs= 750k to a banana

Did Pagan play a leading role in recruiting Ackland? How much was due to the recruiting manager?

I guess Pagan would have the final say on who comes to the club.

I am thinking that Hartlett deserves a recall. He is about the same height as Ackland anyway.

Hartlett's 10 minutes on the ground was in defence, yet in the NAB cup he played in attack and looked far better. ho-hum- whatever. They aren't going to beat Freo. so que sera sera.

That Gardiner and Zantuck one was in the realm of craziness, so too Ackland I guess, but I still wouldn't mind knowing more about the Ackland recruiting process..
