PROS: apart from the obvious:

- we now have better team balance with a good number of runners, who on Sat it appeared were actually all given licence to run.
- thought Lance was better than many give him credit
- bench rotations semed better than earlier in the year (with the extra runners helping of course)
- while it has been evident since his first 2 games that he is a ball winner, surely Carrots has now convinced all the doubters
- we are starting to see why JR was selected at no 9
- Josh K gets full games without being dragged for skill errors

CONS:
- this good win means the ferals will be out in force after the next loss
- don't like Lance in defence, despite his reasonable game, but:
- Port were very very soft mentally
- our blocking and shepherding did not appear to be as good as the week before, when reports indicated emphasis was placed upon it at training
- we don't often get anyone front and square when the ball is bombed long

Oh my god......................
Did Carlton kick the highest score and have the highest winning margin for the round????
Who would have thought?

Yep....who'd a thunkit?......kick more goals than them; and you win !

It really isn't rocket science...... it's not easy every week....but it looks a lot easier when the attacking is relentless.

PROS:
Letting the boys play. The best way to stop them getting the ball is to get it first. Guys like Carrazzo and Russell have finally been realeased from their tagging roles and Hoops has finally been allowed to play forward of the HB line.

Some didn't rate his performance but I think Ackland showed some real footy smarts to counter his opponents' early jumps by not jumping and stepping aside to repeatedly let Bogan sail harmlessly past him and the ball at the centre bounces. He and Setanta might not be winning the rucks but they are doing a damn fine job countering the opposition.

Great pickup RR. Wasn't this amazing... you'd see Ackland look up, look at the player then side step, and we'd as a minimum nullify what all expected to be a clear loss in terms of the ruck position.

This plus our various forward structures with Waite and Fisher playing at times between 5 and 80 metres from goal just show's there is a fair bit of thinking going on at the Club to highlight our strengths and minimise the weaknesses.

CON Missed the game and as penance had to listen to it on 3AW with the Z team. Really Dwayne Russell would be the most unlikeable, uncharismatic, obnoxious and arrogant no talent in the footy media (and there is a bit of opposition for that title).

After the game he spent ten minutes defending Chad Cornes not shaking hands - who cares! tell me about the game! At the start of the game, and for its enirety no-one told us any match ups. They are pathetic. And who ever told them they are funny? They are like a bunch of drunks on a train talking loudly and laughing at their own feeble jokes while everyone around them can't wait for them to shut up or leave.

We are very poorly served by the leeches who make their living on the periphery of footy. About 10% of the footy media actually justify their jobs.

PRO what everyone said but mainly our most convincing win for 6 years, and against a side that has routinely humiliated us. When I looked at the sides I thought Lade, the Cornes and the Burgoynes would slaughter us. Also re comments re tradebait in 2s. We need depth. If we have 6 or 7 developing players in the Ants who will hopefully be good, then that is great. Hawthorn have Ellis, Muston, Thorpe, Roughead, Dowler and others in their twos. JK has looked lost in the ones, but I think he, Edwards, Bower and several others have bright futures and we need to build a list of 30 seniors and ten developing for the future

Pro: A shithouse week was finished off with a little sunshine.

Con: Only got to hear the last 15mins of the game on the radio.

PROS: Agree with what has already been said, but will make special mention of Santy. I have not seen anyone show as much spirit as he does for a long time. To see the absolute delight on his face after he kicks goals is something to behold and I hope its infectious for the rest of the team. You just know this guy bleeds navy blue and I for one love the guy!

CONS: Aisake hasn't Played a senior game this season.........................YET

A few more would have been nice but when you consider St K/North got 34,000 it makes our crowd look OK

Should be packed on Friday though.

Cheers mate, a win this Friday night may take a bit of the edge off what's going to be another awful day as well.
