Well according to The Age, Wiggins is a definite no-starter for tomorrow night. Hamstrong soreness is the issue...

I'll leave people to celebrate or commiserate as they see fit. I really hope this gives young Jake the Snake Edwards an opportunity though!

Do they mention if he'll play Friday?...or just no good for tomorrow- with such "strong" hammies, you never know?

Sorry, couldn't resist

Hamstrong sounds like a WWF wrestler.

Career path for the Wiggler

Well that balances out their loss of Hayes.

[quote="Indie"]Good get Bluey95. That would really open it up for Edwards (or even Teague  ).

Trust you are only joking about Teague - if you are not then you should be barred from posting for a week - for bringing this forum into disrepute!!

Teague should never play again in the firsts

Teaguey is no longer playing as a "tall" defender BB. Opponents know how to play him in that role, and the chopping of the arms rule reduces his capacity to function there.

He bulked himself up for the 2005 season, which ended up being a massive mistake.

He's fined down, and is now playing as a tough midfielder cum mid-sized forward. He's been in the best in the VFL for quite some time in those roles. Some hope he could fill the Hickmott role of tough forward in some games.

There's a gulf between being the best in the VFL and performing well at AFL level. How he must wish that we could play games in the rain at Princes' Park, as that would help him in those roles at AFL level.

That's not to say I'm pushing that barrow. I've got severe doubts myself. But I'm not sure that the time to write his AFL obituary has arrived as yet. The game against the Saints doesn't seem to be on the cards, however, as Hartlett and Blackers seem to have been annointed.

And of course young Jake will miss out because he is like Chris Bryan was, not on DP's farourite list.

More like Bryan missed out because he was a lazy oaf with an inflated opinion of himself. He missed out on the VFL GF side as well, so unless that was because of injury it would appear that he didn't endear himself to the Bullants coaching panel either.

From the real footy site
Pagan wary of underestimating Saints
http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/news/p ... 02440.html

Carlton's Simon Wiggins pulled up from last week's loss to Brisbane with
hamstring tightness and will not be considered for selection, according to a club spokesman.

I seem to remember reading that Dennis mentioned that there were likely to be 2 changes to the team for Friday night and Wiggins would be out through injury. I think it indicated that the other person under some doubt was Houlihan

As much as Teaguey seems a nice guy, a courageous player, and a great clubman, imagine he came back in, played really well and reinvented himself, then that would throw a spanner in the works for who is released come seasons end, because to get 7 names is hard work.

Thats not a reason to not play a bloke though. If there is a spanner in the works for too few players to delist then we should be so lucky. Wouldnt it great AS A FAN to think that the players we got rid of may be any good rather than players destined to play floating loose man in defence for South Adelaide?

If he warrants a game then he should get one. I think the decision has already been made on him, though, as it has with bannister. Well, my decision has been made anyway.

Doesn't it have to be a minimum of three?

Teaguey, Banno, Wiggo (if he doesn't show a bit of the next few months), trade Waitey (if he doesn't pull his finger out)

Speaking of Canberra...

I'm here at the moment for a short-time myself - thank God! Today's paper reinforced why I moved some fours years back. The Canberra Times had an article on St Kilda's injury woes and clearly included Brendan Fevola's name! I was shocked and re-read the paragraph several times before firming my opinion on it being a waste of precious Brazilian Jungle covering. Papers have spelling and gramatical mistakes aplenty - as I do, but that is nothing short of pathetic. I was seriously thinking of sending it to someone like Sammy, but then I thought I couldn't ridicule the place that gave me schooling.

Thank God I'm outta here on Friday, next thing they'll be mistaking is that Swann's the new CEO of Carlton, and Campo plays for Essendon*.

It does, but I would think they would want at least 4 goes at the National draft and perhaps a door adjar for the PSD. If you promote Aisake and Jackson??

Teague, Banno, Mclaren, Saddington, Kouta / Lappo retire maybe? Jut a thought.

I am confident Wiggo signed a two year deal mid last year.

Doesn't take much to rub Denis up the wrong way. Just ask Mitch.
