Lets rummmmm…….ble in the junnnnn….gle!

At last it is here. Its Friday and my balls are clanging louder than the Heatley Stand in the premiership quarter! The season opener. The 16 virgins line up and the debauchery begins!

We have waited.

We have sat through the collosmorgonite years when with gritted teeth we took the spoons and the laughter and the bank balance that teetered by the thinnest black skin of the worst footballing banana republic since Fitzroy smashed into the AFL’s dreams.

We have erected ourselves with Dick so that the finances, the energy, the goddamn Bluebagger swagger, has returned. Sure we are young and we have a long way to go, but we are traveling on Dick’s yellow-paved road now. We’re moving, we’re whistling The Bridge of The River Kwai and we are happy!

Oh thank the Fates for their first up deliverance. The Tiggies. The bouncing, black and white ferals that are the cat and the pigeon all at once. Already trembling Terry is whining. 2o11! @#$%&! me I’m expecting our 18th flag in 2011!!!!

We’ll smash the yellow and black this Sunday and set them into Terry’s Twilight Whinge! The cats will deliver truck loads of chicken shit to Terry’s padded front door.

Oh dear brethren lets RUMMM…..BLE!!!!

Footys back

Dicks backing us

We’re back
And even Goddam Synners is smiling again!

The Bluebaggers will bag the Tigers, we’ll maul them, we’ll run over them and we’ll bottle each and every Richo wine and savor its sweet, sweet tang of Bluebagger heaven as we dance on the seats of the MCG long into the Sunday night!

Oh the stars will be out this Sunday!
Murph, our pure-hearted Galahad.
Tex, the human LINK.
Waite, the panther to terrorize every trembling, Terry, Tigger-cat.
Russs…ell!!! The league’s new tagger par excellence.
JK- the Rock to build our faith upon.
The Irish hurling backman.

FEVOLAAAAAAA!!!!

More stars than slaps during a Terry Wallace self-congratulating, lookatme, lookatme, party.

Oh how we have waited and now, finally, the season begins and this, this my dear bloodbagger brethren, this, this now is the winter of our returning content!

I've seen some hype in my time .. alot of it recently (ergo, the Ducks Weagles game last night) - Swans this, Swans that .. revenge .. etc etc .. everyone up here was crowing how the Weagles were falling apart and that the Ducks would tear them 22 new ones.

We now know the result .. a 2006GF replay, right down to the final margin!!

Which makes me nervous about the self-generated hype we are generating ourselves which, by the way, I have probably been part of! I have only been a blues supporter for a relatively short time (FFS - some of the guys here are talking about peanuts for a shilling a bag at the old Princes Park!) but I know what it is like following a shit team .. I have endured the berating from the Ducks and Filth supporters that came out of the woodwork when I declared my allegiances .. I saw the magic of Who Cares 2005 followed by the disaster that was the second spoon of our history .. I travelled half-way across Sydney of a weekend to watch canings on Fox Footy .. I went to the $2 across from my office to buy three wooden spoons (ironically, they already had dark-blue tags)

But then something happened. The win from the draft .. The Who Cares win of 2007. It was all so very different! The excitement being felt by fellow-TCers (I will avoid at this point quoting mid-post .. you know what I mean).. we are short-priced favourites to back up that win .. the excitement mounts .. it's in the air

But somewhere there is a doubt .. hype has brought crashing dispair before .. the little voices in my head are asking "What If"... Sure - my guernsey is washed and pressed and ready for the trip to the office tomorrow, as is my all-black outfit. And so is the bet I have with a Ducks supporter that we won't win (I bet him a Carlton - he says too bad they make good beer but a crap team: PS - he took the last seat on the Ducks bandwagon) .. what do I believe .. my heart .. my head .. the sportsbet margin?

ImageDispair ..

I can remember the bursting into full bloom in 1968 of this club

but before that burst came the getting of Barass

We are, I think (though Synners and BV still wait for the new Barass coach 8) ) at that point again.

We have the list

and we have the club to ensure that list reaches full potential.

I actually expect little this year - maybe 6 wins though it could be as few as 4 or as many as 12 - and I will let my heart explode through each and every bump of this year for, you see, something is missing this year from the past few years.

Every year since the penalties/fines I have lived with the fear this club might not survive.

I went to coaches lunches that seemed like a sporting event at some third world country

I saw the deathly grimace that was the Club

and I feared we would go under, that made everything hard to bear. Fear is the worst thing.

Now, now I know we are fine. More than fine. We are finally back.

So now, Now like '65, '66 and '67 I am going to enjoy the rising tide. I will be there for the 17th! The Club will be there!

But will Lance or Denis

Go Blues @#$%&! the rest

we are back

maybe not winning flags yet

but we are back and because we are back

and because we are Carlton

the flags will come!!!!
