Good evening everyone on TC!

I haven't been able to spend much if any time on TC due to being totally flat out!!

Great to see the boys have those wins and a couple more would give them tremendous confidence going into the season proper.

Its all happening down at MCLP/PP. Renovations are underway which will give the front of house a clean and new feel. Confidence is returning everywhere at Carlton.

Sub committees have been formed and I am the Chairman of the marketing sub committee which has responsibility for sponsorship, donations and other fund raising (excluding events) and membership.

All directors are making a significant effort to raise money through sponsorship. We have raised significant sums over the last 4 weeks and remain hopeful of getting to or over the $1m mark in time for commencement of the season. This is all new sponsorship or larger amounts from existing sponsors.

I have raised the offers of volunteers with the Club's administration and it has been determined that those offers to assist resigning lapsed members, whilst welcome, are not presently required. The Club has engaged an experienced tele marketing company who are contacting lapsed 2006 members. Another group are contacting the pre-2006 lapsed group. Obviously, we are hoping for membership numbers in excess of 30,000 and this will take some doing.

Depending on how we go, there may still be a need for those people who have kindly volunteered, to be called upon to assist. I will let you know.

We will conduct research into the 10/20 year membership idea to determine the extent of interest. This will take some time but I am keen to develop the idea further and will come back to you all on this as well.

There will be a significant number of events aimed at raising money and we have an events sub committee established.

The Board is working really well together. We all have a common purpose and I am confident in saying that the days of dysfunction are behind us.

I will endeavour to keep you informed as much as I can.

All the best

Stephen M.

Way to make him feel at home PJ. You're not really one of us until you've been accused of sugar coating.

Thanks again Stephen. Every word we receive back from you is greatly appreciated.

If we could just take a few more mins to ask which, if any, of the other ideas raised in the 'From little acorns' or Ideas Bank threads have been considered, and if so are any likely to put into action?

Thanks again, and keep up the great work.

Thanks for sharing the love Stephen.

It's so exciting to feel like we're turning the corner, coming out of the darkness, righting the ship and putting our best foot forward.

Keep up the good work!

Oh, and next time you see Dick, give him a big sloppy kiss from me (no tongue until we play finals)

:-D

Great to be able to read these posts regularly, thanks Stephen.

Although there is much work to be done, it feels like a huge load has been lifted off our shoulders recently, and we can ge back to enjoying football again.

Imagine the relief some of the players feel.

TruBlue

I have a record of all of the little acorns and ideas and we will deal with each and respond accordingly. I make no excuses but with limited time (all of the directors have day jobs) we are simply prioritising what needs to be done first. Securing sponsors and driving membership are currently at the top of the list. I have corresponded with Molsey and will get him in to work through to 10/20 year concept.

There just simply isn't enough time in the day to deal with everything at once. It is fair to say we have been totally swamped with ideas and suggestions but we will deal with them.

Cheers

Stephen M

Good on you Stephen, it is understanding that you cannot do everything at once.

But Stephen once the season starts and the new Football Manager comes into play, most important issue: RE-SIGN OUR YOUNG GUYS WHO ARE OUT OF CONTRACT. For goodness sakes don't let it get down to the last minute.

Please Please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you very much for that insight, and for taking the time to communicate with the fans.

Greatly appreciated by all Blues fans.

Perhaps there are some capable people on here who can kick-start the research process. We're all well aware that sometimes what looks like an acorn could turn out to be a rock, so maybe the open-mined minority ( we are an internet forum after all) can take a closer look at a few acorns.

Would that be a way for the forum(s) to assist the board? Sift through the pile?
