Just in case anyone was thinking of heading to the soc club to watch the match tomorrow, it is not being shown live.

I just called membership to check & was told all they are showing is the delayed (FTA) telecast (downstairs in the pokies area)

A bit weird, these nights normally get a good crowd & the bar would make a few dollars. :?

A little birdy told me that the Foxtel license for venues similar to the social club costs something like $18,000 a month. That's a lot of beer!

Maybe they only renew it at the start of the season proper to save a bit of money.

The club heard you'd be at your anniversary dinner instead & decided to pull the pin!

Thanks for that though, makes sense I guess.

Can't they get it off Optus?

Yep - a few pubs out country way have pulled the pin on foxtel becasue of the expense.

So, I go back to my original thread, where do I watch the game in Abbotsford, Richmond or Fitzroy (@#$%&! Collingwood) where there's big screens, big beers and big buxom ...

Grrr, ran out of room in the post to finish what I was writing.
