Ok so this has been done before but after a big loss, i feel like re-evaluating the team
ok.....here goes

Round 7 List

Backs: Carrazzo Thornton Teague
Half-backs: Wiggins Koutoufides Houlihan
Centres: Scotland Stevens Walker
Half-forwards: Longmuir Waite Lappin
Forwards: Deluca Whitnall Betts
Followers: French Johnson Rover: Camporeale
Interchange: Bannister Chambers Simpson Sporn
Emergencies: McGrath O'hAilpin Prendergast

After Trades/Delistings

Backs: Carrazzo Thornton Teague
Half-backs: Koutoufides
Centres: Scotland Stevens Walker
Half-forwards:
Forwards:
Followers: French Rover:
Interchange: Waite, Betts, Camporeale, Lappin Deluca
Still on List: Simpson

Trades: Fevola, Whitnall, Chambers, Houlihan
Delistings: Wiggins, Sporn, Johnson, Bannister, Prendergast, Longmuir

I am predicting a finish between 8 & 12
so our picks wont be that great.... but we should have enough to pick up some youngsters

Shopping List:
A forward line, Rover, A Backline
We need alot of talls i feel

Ok so heres my justification:

I have no great problem with either Fevola or Whitnall, though if the price is right it is time to sell them off as Fevola will want too much, and Whitnall just isnt ever going to be good enough again.

Chambers is only a maybe at the moment but he has to be worth something, he is way too injury prone....

Its also time for houihan to go, also if we can get the right price.

The delistings, are all pretty self explanitory i feel, all of them (except longmuir) have had their chance and have not shown enough

Dane,

Let Denis sort it out. Thats what he gets paid to do.
The Wizzy cup went to our heads and he along with the rest of us thought we were ahead of schedule.
2007 for the 8 be patient until then.

yep, we're gonna need patience!

at this stage we don't have the sort of spine/structure that can implement what denis wants them to do.

this reminds me ... last night (ie sat night) i was having dinner with friends, one of whom is a coll supporter. after giving it to me mercilessly, he went on to admit that coll is shit and that he wants MM's head on a platter. he finished off by saying that unlike us, with their talls/structure/spine they would never lose by 85 points .... i've been trying to call him tonight .... !!!!!

Do that next week and you'll probably have a totally different perspective, as you would have last week. Most people here had Wiggins staying forever a week ago, Chambers & Fev didn't even play, Houla was BOG 2-3 weeks ago (one bad game and let's get rid of him), Whitnall & Chambers were stars in the WC, Johnno was a vital part of our midfield. Leave it until the end of the season.

Fevola is a matchwinner and I wouldnt be trading him....
Houlihan while not being my ideal footballer hasnt done a lot wrong in recent times and has improved his rating in my books to the point where he is one of the first picked...his skill level in terms of disposal is as good as we have and I dont feel like trading him after finally making a decent footballer out of him....

I would trade Lance for a top ten pick......

I doubt youll get a top 10 pick for Lance Elwood.
What i would do with Lance is drop him into the seconds and just remind him he is playing for his AFL career. Keep him there for 4 weeks and then bring him back.. hopefully he would have smartened up his act.Id play Campo along side of him...
In my opinion these two have alot to play for .. as much as anyone including Clarke. If 4 weeks in the reserves cant knock the complacency out of them i doesnt matter ...
Thomas ios a flower but the statement he made with Capuano helped turn that club around.

Re: Lance.....look I agree we might not get a top ten pick for Lance but there may be someone willing and equally desperate. Its not that I want to get rid of him but unless he can find another position eg CHB I dont see him being out next premeirship CHF.

I dont see us with any other real tasty players who would attract early draft picks and with him probably looking at a decent salary drop I think his motivation to play for us will be poor.....I dont see the Whitnall situation continuing as it has for the past few years....not unlike Ottens really...
