Greetings Earthlings,
Majerczak-verbeek-5 is always a little quiet after a loss to Collingwood, but the planet is looking forward to the clash with Port Adelaide with some confidence.
Time for another installment of club swapsies.
Port Adelaide to Carlton
1992, National, pick 88, Troy Bond, 36 games
1993, Pre-Season, pick 29, Damien Sheehan, 0 games
2002, Trade, Barnaby French, for pick 16 which got Stephen Gilham, 36 games (to end of 2004)
2004, Pre-Season, pick 2, Nick Stevens, 20 games (to end of 2004)
- Troy Bond was a handy pick-up until he went from gruntled to disgruntled as a result of 1995. He became gruntled again in 1997 becoming a premiership player for Adelaide. Can anyone think of other players who have left Carlton to play in a premiership for another team?
- French and Stevens of course look like being important parts of the Carlton team for a few years yet.
Carlton to Port Adelaide
1996, Trade, Brent Heaver, traded for Ben Nelson, Andrew Balkwill, 16 games
- Balkwill and Nelson played 41 games between them for Carlton, so we won the trade in terms of games, but not convincingly.
Of course one of the most famous Carlton player to come from Port Adelaide is Craig Bradley who served the club magnificently over a very long period of time.
Anyone remember anyother pre-draft swapsies between these two clubs?
