Big loss. His defensive pressure, run and carry and connection will be missed.

Damn shame for Hollands. He was just getting going.

So we can't consider Hollands or Lord, but Saad is a test.

Who comes in as the running wingman?

By rights, Acres has dpne what's required of him... but he's not the future.

I was going to say No Change this week given the win last weekend. Given Hollands injury though I'll say:

Out: O. Hollands
In: F Young (but it could be Acres as he's being playing well).

Would love to see Derkson, Reidy and Ben Campo given an extended run at some stage.

However, it's hard to change a winning team.

I think acres has earnt a recall to replace Ollie.

Would like to see Moir in to replace one of Guv or Kemp.

Saad should probably come back via the vfl, he’s a bit fragile these days.

Selection integrity would support the above……who knows, might be the first week Josh makes a statement and surprises us all

I get the feeling we are playing to win, to improve.
Boys enjoyed the winning feeling. See Jagga
Can only see one forced change to winning team.

Acres was BOG. Arguably BOG 3 of last 5 games. Too good for VFL.
His disposal is his Achilles heel with 5% of his kicks. HB are good.

Cottrell was MIA.
Lucas Campo injured

Ollie is out
Carroll takes the other wing.

Apart from Cerra I can’t see another player from last weeks AFL team who is a legit wing, other than Walsh and Smith. These 3 are required to play in midfield group, so Acres is the obvious choice.

If you’re into tanking….thats another story.

With 13 rounds to go, there’s plenty of time to give blocks of games to Moir, B. Camo, Charleson, Derksen, Lord if they show form.

Moir and Derksen also put their hand up last 2 weeks. Maybe Gov and Kemp are in a precarious position. That would be the only other change Fraser May surprise.

I"m an avid VFL follower and I can assure you Blake Acres is killing it . He's a shoe in for mine . A relavitaly young man in todays football terms and got plenty of football in front of him . Besides , it sends a message whether your young or old you are a chance if you put in . Shutting the door on the older players would send a r
terrible message . And besides , Acres had a fabulous pre season . He put in . I was there for a few training sessions and he put in .

Agreed, Mick. Only watched 3 VFL games this year myself, but Blacres has been great and definitely earned a jumper.

Are we certain it was form that landed Acres in the 2s?

Acres didn't start training till January.
He was out injured.
He didnt play praccy games. He was still out injured for them too.

Come round zero, he was training, not only not fit enough, but Chesser was the new kid on the block who had completed the whole preseason and selected ahead of Lucas Campo, who wasn't showing same form as he had shown same time last year, and Cottrell was out injured for first 6 games.

Acres got back training around round 1 but Chesser and E. Hollands waxed the wing for that game.
It wasn't the North Melbourne game, game 4, mid April Acres played and he played half a game.

First full game was against Pies and was in our best 3 in his first full game.

He's only been back for 5 games. He's been in our best 3 in all but the Devils game.

I admire what he brings. Its just some of his kicks are not taken with care.
Last 2 weeks he's been really good with his disposal.

If he isn't picked this week, he isnt missing because of form.
I think at training yesterday he was on the sideliines in the match sim.

If they are rewarding form in the VFL, and he is fit, Acres is playing in Adelaide.

Mr Derkson I know you have not played much football and are more of a forward than a back but allow me to introduce you to Mitch he is currently 4th on the goal kicking tally and in line for AA selection. He is your opponent Saturday night. Now be a good boy and don't let him off the hook

Haven't been a huge acres fan, but he really deserved a game. Good for the vfl team though

Not sure why Acres didn't compete in the match sim on Wednesday.
I'm guessing he's fine and will lead the kids in the reserves against coburg.
If that's the case, the MC are looking at youth and other options whilst fielding a competitive team.

If he doesn't play he wasn't selected because of injury.

I have no problem with Cerra on a wing. He's always good in that role, and in good form.
I'm guessing Ainsworth will get more time in the midfield mix.
With the loss of williams too, we are going to need Cerra in that mix too.

Who else for the wing? Young?

The Fraser experiments begin.

Young was held back as Emergency last week, so didn't play vs Footscray in the VFL.
The week prior we thrashed the Demons and his one wood, his deadly kick, was not working missing easy shots at goal. I think he kicked 1.3 playing lead up forward.
The week before that he was Ok vs Saints playing HHF/ FP but he missed a couple easy set shots.
The week before that he was out injured.

Why I bring this up is because a lot of fans wanted to reward the good form he displayed prior to those games.
That 'good form' was more than 5 weeks ago as a lead up forward, whose game I likened to Brad Pearce with his well timed leads and dead eye kicking.
I'm not sure if he's been rewarded for recent form.

I think the MC/List Mgr is another player they want to see more of, given he's out of contract end of year, and MSD next week.

Another thought with the addition of Byrne AND Young to Evans and Ainsworth is the return to the 4 small forwards we saw a lot of last year. In fact, some games last year we had 5 small forwards with Will White and fantasia included with Williams, Evans and Durdin.

Looking forward to see what Fraser does with 4 small forwards. Better be putting heaps of pressure and kicking half a dozen goals.
