"innocent of your charges"... luvs ya Bondi

I've always said that if he's been judged as the best choice going forward, we needed to extend his contract by 2 years. Seems to me Wright is 50/50 on him... imo

Hate to sakc him next year and find out players leaving and or wanting to leave was due to the coach.

Appreciate the concern Bondi but Carlton put paid to my mental many, many years ago!

So Keithy hopes we win no games for the first 8 rounds.
That is some pessimistic outlook right there.
Go the Blues!!

I think having a club stick to it's word with contracts would give it a better reputation in the long run.

True , but i reckon all Clubs break there word when it suits them . Its not like we are orphans in that regard . But for some reason we are the ones to cop the flack for it . Geez there are plenty of hypocrites in the AFL industry .

that's because Malthouse and Pagan especially did so much harm to our club. unintentional I'm sure, but they were yesterdays men signed up for huge money and the Messiah complex that happens around Princess Park guaranteed major long term disappointment for all Blues supporters.

Pagan was a proponent of that Messiah complex too, so doubly bad (partially responsible for creating the Wayne Carey monster, and Fev for that matter).

No, he isn't saying it's about optics, he's saying we shouldn't sakc out of general frustration and without a clearly articulated plan. I would even argue that going the sakc would be the optical (not optimal!) solution because it's meat to the segment of the fanbase that demands actions and apportioning of blame.

I have no issue with an extra year of Voss even if he turns out not to be the right man. There are deeper issues with the playing group - in terms of attitude, resilience and profile - that IMO aren't going to be resolved overnight by a coaching change. So let's reduce the adjacent volatilities and work through a plan to build a team that is available and capable of modern football.

exactly. and if the game style doesn't evolve properly like Voss has said he wanted all year long, then we know he either doesn't know how to implement it or he is some other way deficient. He deserves a chance and there's nothing gained by sacking for the sake of making statements. Do you shoot your horse because you got to the party late?

This from one of the more knowledgeable posters on BF;
Austin and the list management team all safe too.
New assistants all round for Voss in 2026.

Austin... it's all his fault, I'm told.

Can't blame the fitness dude, he's gone... someone else must pay this year.

I don't think anyone needs to pay.
This is part of the club maturing, we need to make some changes and tweak the list.

But the guy that's tasked with recruitment keeps picking players that can't kick... how can we trust him again?

Good kicks in recent recruiting:
Matt Carrol (sublime level)
Francis Evens (Dunstall was calling him Derek Jarman)
Lord
Cowan
Moir (Jobe Watson tells me he's ambidextrous off both legs!)
I think Haynes' disposal has been at least ok for a KPD who's there for his intercept marking
Jagga is supposed to be good.
HOF? (not sure)

who are the worst kicks recruited by Austin?
