I thought Wilson was good tonight too. He had some nice runs through the middle and showed what a weapon he could be.

I hope Wilson, Carroll, Lord, HOK, Moir and Evans are part of our starting 23 next year.

We need that injection of youthful exuberance every week. Voss has a tendency to play his favourites which mean the players can get complacent and slow.

The young boys. Flynn Young, Moir, Evans, Wilson, Cowan, Lord, O;Keefe all have the 'thing'. They have a strutt, they are confident. They dont just knock the ball out to the boundary, they try and keep it in and make something happen. Difference between them and the older guys we have.

This is what i have been calling for, confident wanna win guys. They are them.

I think Cripps should do the right thing and hand over captain duties to Walsh next year.

He has the want to compete and we need him leading these guys.

Cripps making the comments last night about TDK always being a Carlton player because he has his name on the locker. I mean 'F' That sh#^!! He achieved nothing, and will just be a name and nothing more than that. Gutless wonder. Players have given up that much money to play at worse clubs than ours, but he has always given us issues with contract re-signings so it is not surprise to me.

I just dont want to see St Shitna rolling him out while their supporters think they are all that. Because they will never be US. As much as they have always tried. No matter how many Carlton people they add to that sh$^ stain of a club.

IMO, we need to fix some structural things for 2026.

1. Our press. We allow to many easy balls out the back.
2. Stop guarding space and go man on man. We are allowing plenty of space for the shorter kicks and it’s opening us up.
3. Our i50 are still too KP focused. Harry’s leading was good last night and is better than Charlie’s. Need to learn to create space for each other.
4. Need two wingman with run and carry. Haynes can’t be a long term option. Believe Ollie is our best bet. LucasC can be as well.
5. Last night proved more run in the centre is the key (Mots, Williams) but TdK’s ground ball work will be a huge loss and will truly hurt us. He becomes another midfielder with run - go figure.
6. Play and rotate Williams, Elijah, Moir and Mots half forward as they give is run, spark and clean disposal.

That’s my 2 cents.

Personally, I've liked the move of Haynes to a wing late in the season. Helps give us good defensive coverage. Well done to the coaching panel.

I went last night. Got some of the $7 general admission tickets and we sat on level 1 in the Ponsford Stand.
Terrible game to watch but always happy to beat Essendon*.
Hewett was fantastic and should win the B & F. Weitering didn't let much pass.

Glad the season is over and nice to finish with a win.

Oh he's so gone.

Cripps said something like, well he'll always be a 100 game player for us....

I caught that, but I thought I was reading too much into it!!

My very well connected StK mate (who has regular dinners with Ross amongst other back room connections) has been telling me the deal was done months ago (or certainly weeks… I can’t remember exactly when he first indicated).
I have no other validation but looks and feels accurate.

We move on. Find another ruckman. Use the extra cash to build a broader list base. Hawthorn lost
Buddy and then won the flag. Geelong lost Ablett Jnr…. And then won the flag. The Crows made the grand final in 2017 after losing Dangerfield at the end of 2015.

Just watched the replay.

Love, love, loved the game from Billy Wilson. Game 3 and he looked so assured and comfortable. He was neat, tidy and quick of mind. I already can't wait to see him up and about in 2026.

I don't think I have ever seen Crippa make so many handling/skill errors. Fumbly and just out of sorts. I guess it has been a long year without alot of support.

Frankie Evans is just a pure footballer. Kudus to Austin and Co for seeing something. Takes his chances and makes the most of them. Well done Frankie.

Ollie is working so hard on his kicking. Sure he fluffed a few but you can see he knows his weakness and he will do everything to get it right. Ollie and Walshy need to both spend the off season just kicking the ball 30-50 metres on a flat out run.

Walshy tried to overdo every touch, but I still love his physical intent. He needs to watch and rewatch every time he gets caught with the ball and get that out of his game. 1st give, 1st instinct.

Lewis Young is as tough as wet lettuce leaf.

A very solid game from Mots. Interesting to see him in the centre square so often. It is the sort of game that might get you some bites from other clubs for a decent pick. His inconsistency week in week out just loses me.

The kids were great. sure it was a bruise free game but they had spark and really showsed the way with some great spirit and intensity.

And lastly Georgie Hewett. What a tireless footballer he is. He should be a worthy winner of the 2025 B&F. Well deserved.

Where the @#$% do we get a reliable 196cm Backman from? Who can we poach for a few years whilst Dean and HOF put on some size? I would throw some more dollars at SOS if that's what it takes. We should have plenty in the Cap if Gov, Saady, TDK and Acres go.

Regards Cazzesman

Agree 100% Cazz.

Main issue is another tall down back, Lewis was poor. I'm gutted about HOF, as much as he would have needed some time we desperately need a tall to support JW.

Similar to last week I thought Sam took on to much and sometimes the first option needs to be used. Still love his run and carry, something we desperately need.

If Ollie can improve his disposal and decision making he will become a very good footballer, he ticks most boxes.

Very interesting trade period, we do well and we can challenge for the 8, get it wrong and we could really struggle for the next few years.

Congrats to Matt Carroll on landing the final Rising Star nomination of 2025.

Good on him, I hadn't heard that.

Surprised Billy Wilson wasn't nominated instead.

Might have been a bit of a cumulative factor with Carroll.

Billy Wilson has only played 4 games and so can be nominated next year. Matt Carroll has played 17 games and so this was his last chance.
