I fear this group may be a few weeks away from totally losing their shit... and thanks to the AFL, it will be all on display in prime time.

Worst case scenario 2025, which could quite likely happen.

Lose to all of Richmond, Collingwood and Essendon*.

Win less games than Richmond.

Essendon* make finals and win one.

Collingwood win GF.

Do we have enough room in the salary cap to pay our some of these pretenders and get some mature desperate bodies from the lower leagues? Watching the dogs, they have so many role players that are committed

The mongrel punt posted a very good article - I can't work out how to post the link - about how we have lost our soul, very sad, damning. This club stands for nothing now

After the bye we have the Bombers, Eagles, North and then Port Adelaide so things aren't looking too bad in the short term. Actually if we beat GWS next week then I think we are still a decent chance of making the top 8.

We lost it in 2002 and never regained it.
We rolled over, accepted the sanctions, and appointed an AFL selected president.
We then proceeded to give up the home ground and give away an advantage that most teams have in the AFL.
Then, unlike other clubs, instead of settling on either Marvel or the MCG, we had a bet each way. Collingwood doesn't play home games at Marvel, and dogs and Saints play mostly at Marvel.
It is no surprise that both Essendon* and Carlton have struggled the most splitting games between the 2 stadiums.

We lost the ability to attract big names, we abided by the rules where other clubs like Geelong Sydney and Collingwood seem to be able to bring players in and make arrangements outside the cap.

In 2002 we should have stood up taking on the AFL and dismantled the cap and draft.

Since then we have become too nice and too woke.

The AFL has us right where they want us being a nice club recruiting nice players

Newman, JSOS and Cowan are the only guys who seem to go in to bat. None of them were on the ground.

You can still be a nice guy and get white line fever, Newman is a an example of that.

There's so many more surprises this year will bring AFL fans.

Last year I thought the Dogs would win the Flag if it wasn't going to be us.
This year I think its Dogs again despite losing Jammara and Weightman for the year, and they seem to go alright without Darcy, Jones and Treloar. What a super team.
We gave them trouble till Naughton scored his only mark and goal for the game.

Like Ive said all along, we can't carry too many injuries into any game and expect to win, so if the injury gods are kind to us and Newman returns fit and firing, as well as having TDK in the ruck and our spine intact, we could be a show. If not, we will need to address depth, and a new ruckman at the end of the season to add to what we have. God I hope TDK stays.

Upsets are coming thick and fast and will continue for the rest of the season . Don't give up the ghost at this stage of the season . Hang in there . We can still make the eight . Just need a bit of luck on the injury front as O"l mate Bondi correctly pointed out .

The games we should win are the ones that worry me... I'm still traumatised by rd1

I'd rather miss out than scrape into the 8 and play someone like Adelaide over there in an elimination final.

With Hawthorn owning our first I cannot agree with that
