According to a report from Channel 7's Mitch Cleary, De Koning suffered a throat injury last week and will be given Thursday's captain's run to prove his fitness.

Why would you want to play for a club that whacks you in the throat?

I can see saints supporters bringing bags of Monopoly money and throwing it at TDK as he enters the race on his way back into the change rooms.

I swapped to the club that cracked my ribs. When I mentioned it to my new playing president, he said, 'that was probably me'.

I love this story Fenwick.

A bit like Diesel Williams and Rhys Jones playing together for our club

Surely nowadays it would have to be 5 or 10 cents!

Can’t see them going as high as 10.

Prez was built like Diesel and just as slow, so I guess that makes me Rhys (look out, Dermie)

I think I read that Boyd did have concussion.
Any news of how bad JSOS's injury is?

Was curious so went and did some digging.

The injury list as of Thursday 13 May was 11 players (McGovern played) so 10.
Add in Boyd (concussion) and SOS (unofficially) which makes it 12.

This time last year it was......
13 players.
Few of the same guys on it too - Williams, Fogarty, Cottrell.

No real change; apart from 3 season ending injuries this year and 1 last year.

Quote:
@XanderMcGuire
Jack Silvagni will have a scan on his groin in the coming days to determine the severity of his injury. The defender had a heavy limp post match - but the hope is still that it’s just soreness.

Typical adductor tendon strain can be a 2-4 week issue.

I still say we had 2 season ending injuries last year. I do not acknowledge Docherty's EF appearance.

Good point.
So it's almost the exact same, despite cutting some injury prone guys and changing fitness staff.

And as I said last year, when you have a shitload of injuries to your B graders, that's when your C graders get games & you end up with 6 passengers like we had last night

That's an honest and accurate statement.
We do over rate our C graders.
Frankly, I don't know what they are doing on our list, given we have 17 kids under 21yo.

Positive scans for Jack Silvagni and his groin injury, coming up all clear. The defender didn’t train today and is only a remote chance to feature against GWS, but isn’t expected to be sidelined long-term. Tom De Koning set to return. @1116sen
