Surely we are looking at this kid also.
Top 20 draft pick, has been crippled with injuries..........has Carlton written all over it.
Listed at 1.9m
https://central.rookieme.com/afl/player/conor-stone/

Quote:
Essendon* has interest in uncontracted Greater Western Sydney utility Conor Stone, who is also weighing up an offer to stay at the Giants.

Stone is among a number of players the Bombers have earmarked as a trade target ahead of next week, given his versatility in being able to play at either end of the ground.

The Giants tabled Stone a two-year contract offer to stay at the club back in July, though there had been intrigue around his future given he still remains unsigned.

Quote:
The 22-year-old started his VFL campaign as a forward, kicking 16 goals from his first seven matches before he flourished as an intercept defender in the second half of the season.

A former No.15 pick at the Giants from 2020, Stone has battled a number of injury issues that has limited him to just 13 games across his first four years on the club's list.

https://www.afl.com.au/news/1236153/talks-on-richmond-tigers-trio-to-ramp-up-hawk-to-stay-essendon-bombers-eye-giant-conor-stone
In all seriousness depending on what his injuries have been, he might be worth a look to upgrade/replace McLovin or play in forward line as a medium fwd if required.

We should offer pick 11 for SDK

If we could get SDK for 23yo SDK, I would take it too, and run.
That's our spine sorted for the next 5 years: our already open window.
Add a FA or 2 next year and we could win a flag or two whilst Crippa is still captain.

Compared to Dodoro and SOS, Austin has built a good reputation as a reasonable list manager to deal with; a 'good guy'.

There's a good chance Austin can get pick 12 from GCS for our F1 plus ?
There's also noise made Austin is working towards Brizzy pick 18 for our picks 31, 61, 64,68 and F?

That could give us 11 12 18/20 before the Ben Campo pick.

IF Cats land Oliver and Bailey, its reasonable to think Cats would take pick 12 for SDK to make the space for them.
Cats will need a first rounder or two for Bailey, and Oliver may even be a F1 and whatever else Cats have spare to give this year.
If the only team SDK would go to is Carlton, we are in the box seat.

Pick 11 Travaglia/Berry
Pick 18/20 Hannaford/ Trainor
SDK
Ben Camo
Lucas Campo
Upgrade Boyd to Primary list
Add Haynes onto Primary List

That's 7 spots we need....Marchbank, Cuningham, Martin, Owies, Kennedy, Carroll....we need to find one more player if we can't find a home for Young, and he's got 2 years payout if he's delisted , then Fantasia may be the one pushed out and paid out his 1 year for 2015, like LOB was.

On Rookie list

Duffy replaces Akuei
Lord replaces Boyd
Durdin creates a spot ....... a mature KPD/ Developing ruck???
Mirkov is the MSD we took with Lord

10 list changes. I would be over the moon if all of the above happens, and I'd rather hold onto Young than S.Durdin.

I don’t think that trade would make any difference.

@bondi, isn't the thinking that Lucas will end up going in the rookie draft and therefore landing on the rookie list?

Have I missed something?

Why do we think SDK is available?

Why not just hand the keys over to the AFL while we're at it! Why the hell would you do that? Carlton people need to understand that we got the good De Koning. This is Nathan Ablett territory here. Geelong already know this. They have Connor O'Sullivan waiting in the wings and he's going to be very, very good.

SDK isn't in their best 22 next year. So of course the Cats are saying he's not gettable. They play this time of year better than anyone and have done for 20 years. It's got to be a non-negotiable that we get two picks in the top 30-something of this draft before taking Ben Camporeale.

Interesting....but no way Brisbane would do this.
It's a Geelong like trade.

Edit: Apparently Cooney has now dropped the future first.

Edit: It's been deleted now.
Original deal was: H McKay for, Coleman, Bailey, McCarthy & future 1st.
