Pros -

Dekoening - Great improvement. He’s the key for 2025.

We look dynamic & confident with him as the solo ruckman.
Our best wins of the season vs Geelong, Port, GWS etc were with DeKoening taking the ruck. No Pittonet selection in those matches. (unless Pittonet improves markedly & can offer something like marking in the forward line on a consistent basis he shouldn’t be selected.)

Pro- I just like seeing Acres out there.. He is a player that I don’t have to worry about. he doesn’t let you down in endeavour or application. He’s an old fashioned footballer. Glad he’s in the team. In 2023, he gave me a lot of highlights … including that goal of the year vs St Kilda. In 2024, solid citizen.


Other pros- form of Nick Newman, Cripps, Walsh, McKay and Curnow over parts of the season was good.

Cons-

team selection (sometimes due to injury) often reaked of desperation. For example, when Cottrell came straight back into the team underdone. Or when Owies was subbed vs GWS in preference to Fantasia starting. Odd. The total addiction to Fantasia from the match committee despite limited output in any match… his spot could have been used developing youth.

Con-backward development of defence. Saad and McGovern neither really impressed.
