yep vs Melbourne on May 9 - that's a 7 week hammy by the time he is passed fit next week

Hopefully they're making extra sure he'll be 'ready-to-go' when he comes back
That's how I read it too & if so, got no problem with it.

Overall starting to look a lot better.

He’s redone the hammy on return twice in a row now. I would way rather be annoyed that’s it’s taking longer than expected than be annoyed the he reinjures it on return again.

Take the extra week, but get on top of it and make sure he doesn’t do it again. 5 hammies in 2 years, they clearly need to look at his program and make some changes. A tailored approach is required moving forward

THERE are updates on six Blues leading into Round 15.

Orazio Fantasia (AC joint)
- Availability: test

Marc Pittonet (finger)
- Availability: test

David Cuningham (calf)
- Back in full training
- Availability: test

Adam Cerra (hamstring)
- Back in full training
- Availability: one week

Jack Martin (calf)
- Back in full training
- Unavailable this week. Will be assessed further next week

Matthew Cottrell (foot)
- Back in skills training
- Availability: 2-3 weeks

I was sure Cerra would be available for selection this week - it was quite a while ago he re-did his hammy (Melbourne game)?

Fantasia, Pittonet and Cuningham will be good additions to the VFL team this week.

I think they are giving him a bit of extra time to do his calf or stub his toe, kind of a reverse Motlop.
Not fair not to give him the same opportunity as everyone else.

I heard Danger talk about him remodeling his running and how he picks up the ball. Maybe Cerra is working on the same thing.

Jack Martin has recently returned to Queensland for the same calf treatment that got him on the park last year for an impressive finals campaign.
He’s expected back in 3-4 weeks.
Adam Cerra a good chance for next week.

I don't understand why he didn't just use his wife's googlesearch doctor again to begin with, it worked wonders last time

If it worked last time why did they wait so long this time?

They want to last until gf day, can’t start his run of injury free games too early.

Diamond Dallas Page is in Queensland now?

Speaking on AFL.com.au's The Round So Far over the weekend, Port Adelaide great Kane Cornes suggested that Carlton's ability to put opponents to the sword in last terms was a byproduct of high-performance boss Andrew Russell's work.

"He got a bad rap when they were having a lot of soft-tissue injuries," Cornes said.

A bad rap. Well I never :smoking: :smoking:

Hands up who rapped him

Me.

Last year we managed to get a good run of fitness in the 2nd half of the season which was a major contributor to our form, unfortunately we were coming from too far back and maybe didn't have enough in the tank to go all the way.

Seems like our fitness is on a similar trajectory this season but hopefully with the option to "manage" players in r23-24. I don't want to jinx things by suggesting AR may know what he's doing, but I've put the pitchfork back in the shed.
