Seriously how well have we done considering what we have been deallt, incl. injuries.
It also seems we play these teams at their peak. I would bet the boys enjoyed the extra days and are looking forward to the break.

By the time finals come around and if we have a full list (include Cerra, Martin, Motlop in today’s team), then no one will be comfortable playing us. Just really spewing Doc and JSoS won’t be available.

he be their captain who gets plenty of it but has 20% effectiveness by foot and 13% by hand. and averaging 2 falcons a game (self-inflicted of course).

i want to float something ... i dont rate sydney's as that far ahead of the rest of the competition.

now, hear me out ... they play the SCG better than anyone, but they have been "lucky" where they have played mostly all the top 8 sides at the SCG.

v Dees (SCG) - won
v Pies (MCG) - won
v Dons (SCG) - won
v Tigers (MCG) - lost
v Eagles (Adelaide) - won, doesnt really count
v Suns (SCG) - won
v Hawks (MCG) - won
v Giants (SCG) - won
v Freo (Freo) - won
v Blues (SCG) - won
v Dogs (Marv) - won
v Cats (SCG) - won

only 2 / 8 games against current top 8 sides actually played away from home ...

now im not suggesting they arent going to finish top, with the Crows, Giants, Freo (At SCG), Saints, North in next 5 games, they would basically need to fall off the bridge to not finish top from here ... and with the very likely hood of two home finals its the Swans vs ??? in the GF ... but gee, id fancy any other side playing them on the G on the big day ..

I've said this before too.

They've been a bit lucky with getting the good teams at the SCG, or when they were struggling with form/injury, or both. If they played Collingwood now, Melbourne at the MCG, us at the MCG or now, Cats at the litter tray, things might be different.

Sydney are going ok and are red hot favourites and rightly so
They have managed the injury curse better than most and have kept players on the park. 16 players have played every game and another 2 have only missed 1 game
Injuries to Mills and Parker has actually improved their team.
Other than Tom Macartin missing a few and Rampe missing a couple they have been able to put on the same players on the park each week.

A few injuries to a few key players and they will come back to the pack

The Collingwood V Carlton game is totally sold out.
Hopefully anyone who wanted to go managed to get tickets.
Amazing considering the game isn't until early August.

AFL members hasn't gone on sale yet but I'm sure that'll go quickly.

There is no doubt - we are a powerhouse right now and even MCG can’t hold our demand.
AFL need to acknowledge it and move us, while also plan to upgrade to a 200k stadium to accommodate us when we start winning premierships again.

You expect them to build a 200,000-seater in 3 months?

if Will Day plays i wouldn’t be so sure about trouncing the Hawkes. wish Hawthorn could stay down for another 30 years. went to school with too many Hawkes supporters and sons of club members, execs and directors. some of them made make look Jeff Kennett look humble and compassionate.

it’s interesting how much the team we beat in a final by almost nothing has improved to one that absolutely killed us and one with too many goal kickers to mention. but have they really improved that much. i wondered why we didn’t go after grundy. he seems to be part of the difference. then i saw what pitto and TDK would dévelop into this year.

even though my ladder predictor done several
weeks ago had us at second spot after last week, i was surprised to see us in that spot and i don’t feel like we’ve been cruising to finals like in ‘95. i feel like we’re still working things out and getting consistency out of players and the systems of play we want to use.

it’s one of the most even seasons i can recall across the AFL. every club that finished top
eight last year bar Sydney has had issues, either a stack of injuries or putride form. second half might look more lip sided i suspect as the front runners emerge.
