I'm still disappointed that Carlton were barely competitive after the first quarter but what it boiled down to was a severely undermanned team in iffy form playing the top team that is close to full strength and in incredible form.
At this stage it's Sydney's flag to lose.

Only watched the first half, I couldn't bring myself to watching yet another game where we just lose and I didn't want to ruin my Friday night.
Unfortunately not to my surprise we were flogged, the writing was on the wall in the second quarter.

It's not all doom and gloom, Sydney at home are a pretty tough beat, especially when our list health is polar opposites.
But that is one of the main issues, we have too many players on the list that are always injured.
And we play a game style (with a slow midfield) that requires a lot of repeat sprinting that makes us more susceptible to soft tissue injuries.
As I've said ad nauseam, our midfield/wings are too slow and not skilled enough.
Unfortunately, we keep either bringing in slow players to the midfield/wings or we pay more attention to other positions.
Rinse, repeat and we are back here again every year and now we have more holes in other parts of the ground.

I really hope this off season we make some hard choices to move some players on in the hope of better durability and consistency in the playing group.
Especially considering the amount of durable players we have let go for better quality ones that can't even get on the park (some we have overpaid for too), extremely frustrating.

I thought Gulden was pretty well held.

It's all relative :D

Two clearances. 0 goals. 0 behinds. 0 goal assists. 4 contested pozzies. I'm going with the "picked up cheap stats in the back half when the game was won" defence, and more fool anyone who watches the replay to prove me wrong!
