if Cottrell is out for 4/5 weeks ( carlton language means 7/8 wks) with a very serious foot issue what do you guys think of getting him 100 % for 25 season and placing him on LTI list and go to mid season draft . I have read this type of injury could be career ending . I HOPE NOT .

It can be just ask ex-Geelong player Matthew Egan.

Although if you get on the roids you can come back from it just ask “Golden Balls”.

In this case with Cottrell it is not a complete stress fracture it’s a “navicular stress reaction”.

Let’s trust that the club is reporting truthfully.

I can understand carrying Martin through the season if you get him right for the back end and he can provide in finals. But it is a complete joke now.

You can't have Cuningham and Martin on the same list. Baffles me that we have kept Cuningham as long we have.

Good call Agro. Finger on the pulse there. Enough is enough with these blokes. Now just waiting for Marchbank to go again. Injury prone players only ever let you down. The program can be questioned (and should be) but time to start looking deeply at these blokes that are forever injured and asking if it's worth the difficulty.

According to the latest injury updates:

Adelaide has Thilthorpe and Milera out long term.
Brisbane has had Ashcroft out for a year by the time he gets back, as well as Coleman, Doedee, Gardiner and McCarthy out for the season, as well as Zac Bailey for this week. And Starcevich is out with a calf too.
We have Docherty and JSOS out for the year, plus Cerra, Cottrell & Cunningham out for a few weeks with Saad, Motlop and Fogarty due back in the next week or 2.
Collingwood has lost DeGoey, Mihocek, McCreery, Mitchell, McStay (for the year), Howe and Elliott.
Essendon** has Draper, Duursma, Ridley and Setterfield out.
Geelong is missing Dangerfield (yet again) as well as Bruhn and Cameron. And they are resting Hawkins.
GWS has just lost Kelly and Ash for 6 weeks.
I got bored at that point but most teams have either key players or lots of bit players or both.
We, along with Richmond, Hawthorn, Brisbane and more recently Collingwood look to have been hit a bit more.
And we must look at our program with regard to soft tissue injuries.
But I don't think we need to be hysterical about it.

Then there's Williams (test), and what's the story with Marchbank?

Marchbank played/is playing VFL.

I've tried not to jump into the Sakc campaign but it's becoming very difficult.

We have the injury prone players, yes.
But we're getting far too many other players with soft tissue problems, and repeated soft tissue problems.

Cerra, Cunningham, Martin, McGovern, Motlop, Saad - it can't just be bad luck.

Well, Hudson O'Keefe is listed as 8 - 12 weeks due to his hammy. If it's 12, that takes him mid-August, and the way the VFL side is playing they won't be making finals... It might be just as easy to mothball him for the year and take the pick.

Something has to give now with our injuries. We’ve got a finite window to contend and injuries threaten to derail us. Either get rid of the usual injury prone suspects or Russell or both. We can’t sit on our hands at the end of the year. Has gone on for wah too long.

Jack Martin’s body is made of wet cardboard
Watching him Thursday night he didn’t look fit to me
Has a pot
“ Footy fat “
If he and Cuningham are offered contracts the club is idiotic
Put simply both are liabilities
Martins has made 3.5 million and played bugger all
Not good enough
