Agree with this, just can't see us reverting back to a forward line without a half decent tall forward who can kick.

I would have thought Kreuzer would play ahead of Casboult. Hope Jaksch gets a game, he deserves it with his VFL form.

So, does that mean Casboult is our ruckman or Gorringe plays?

At this stage sounds like Rowe will play forward and may share the ruck duties to save Casboult's leg. With Rowe and Casboult forward, if that's the case, means Jones goes out.

Jaksch must be wondering what he has to do.

Thought they would both get named tonight with a wait and see....I actually love the intrigue and keep the Cats guessing!!

You'd think Kruezer would be the 1 closer to play and surely Jaksch for Casboult and Gorridge for Kruezer if there are changes. Everitt and White are lucky to survive and Jaksch unlucky if he misses.

Great intrigue though...

Rowe with Levi relieving you'd think.

I think he's been pinched at the post by the ruck dramas here. If Rowe was back in defence, he'd have White's spot.

Traditional 'umpires screw Blues' round! Comes around @least twice a season with Cats and Hawks. Good to see Scott reminding the umps

Wish we were playing three tall forwards this week. Don't really want Harry Taylor running around without a man.

No Jamison says either a) illness is longer-term or b) indeed White is preferred.... meaning:

- Bolts is happy with how we're covering in defence?
- Jamison is finished
- Jamison is an emergency only (and probably finished)?

He'd probably need a week in the VFL to show some form what with the way he's been playing, and that's not happening this week.

White's in the team by the skin of his teeth.

Strange selection dramas.

I think this shows how low they rate Gorringe (for good reason) that their practically begging kreuze to put up with pain and come back 12 days after surgery.

Wood would battle ok but he obviously isn't fit yet. Phillips fit would solve the problem I think.

Surely Jakesh plays regardless

They've been developing Gorringe as a forward; the ruck move was just desperation.

He's got a two-year contract, don't judge him 8 months into becoming a project player.

There are no single position players on our list. Everyone has been training in dual roles since the start of pre season.
Gorringe is a ruck/forward. If he can't step up, there won't be a lot of patience.

Sun PM games are a painful wait. With early game win there's plenty to read/watch. Lose you get on with your weekend

I prefer it when we are rebuilding.

Last Year games on Friday nights really put a downer on the weekend.

When Korcheck and Wood have been in the VFL team, he's been a forward/ruck. He's pretty clearly training as a forward/ruck which, with Capuano as our ruck coach, means he's basically training to be a forward/guy who taps to his feet and doesn't know how to maximise his leap.

Has the club stated it's a 2 year deal? Being a DFA I've been assuming he would've only landed 1 year deal.

Wright supposedly did, but according to Effes, Gorringe didn't:

Gorringe definitely got a 2 year deal.

Blues duo Kreuzer and Casboult on light duties

Quote:
With rain falling on a cold day in Melbourne, the Blues trained indoors at Ikon Park with Kreuzer and Casboult doing minimum work. Both have missed one match but have been named in the team to play at Etihad Stadium, in what would be an extraordinarily short recovery.

Neither looked to be in any discomfort and moved freely.

...

Casboult was one of the last to leave after taking time to practise his goalkicking. Kreuzer also tested out his kicking before moving on to stationary drills.

Emergencies Liam Jones and Daniel Gorringe trained, with the Northern Blues having a bye in the VFL this week.
