Good side.
Plenty of flexibility.

Walker to swing forward with Cripps and Thomas having stints up the middle.
Even throw Menzel in as a full rotation from pocket through to wing.
All capable, Cripps with a bit to prove yet but the boy is a beast.

I also reckon that's pretty close to the mark.

I'd probably have Cripps on the bench. And Tuohy in the back pocket. And shift Everitt up the ground. I also reckon Curnow will get a game ahead of Bell.

Would like to see both Buckley and Docherty groomed for the midfield over summer.....

After clearing out three average midfielders we need to promote opportunities for others

Big kahuna boot,
Who is the 4 up forward??????
Henderson casboult and jones, makes 3..........
Too slow????????
How fast are the Hawks?????
How skilled are they???????
Don't care about pace, care about hitting targets and leadership........
Would take skill before pace any day of the week but, what do I know hey...

Have to keep raising the bar on every line and group.

Those 2 have a bit of zip.
If they click, we become a fast midfield group with Judd Murphy Simpson Walker Yarran Gibbs Thomas Cripps and Bell.

IMO we will compete with the best in 2015, if we all get a great preseason under our belt.
Class on every line IMO.

ONE MORE DRAFT TRADE PERIOD AND WE'D HAVE TO BE HAPPY WITH THE GROUP WE'VE GOT.

I'd take skill and commitment over just pace certainly, but I'd also take pace and commitment over just skill too.

That said Hawks Grand Final team had:

Birchall, Bruest, Duryea, Puopolo, Rioli, Burgoyne, Smith and Hill for their running power.

We have:

Docherty, Walker, Simpson, Yarran, Everitt, Thomas, Tuohy, Murphy and Judd.

I don't think they quite add up the same. Comparable, but we'd be beaten for pace more often than not. Skill is a closer race.

Plenty of players who can play in multiple positions and can mix it up a bit. In today's game is handy at least.

Where's the talented and pacy players to bring in? He's probably one tall too many but the club already said they want Jones as a third-tall forward.

Hey Jimmae, are the draftees moving onto the team board soon?

Figured that's what this post would be about - updated it! :)

Yeah I don't see how we're supposed to fit Jaksch, Jones & Everitt into the same team if everyone's fit and in form. Carrazzo, Graham, White and Sheehan are other immediate casualties based on end-of-season form.

If you are talking end of season form, Sheehan was playing better and has more upside than Tuohy so should be in the team.

Tuohy was in good nick at the end of the season, and no, I was specifically referring to those 4 names as being unfortunate cuts given their form.

B: Buckley Jamison Jacksch
HB: Yarran Rowe Sheehan

Foll: Kruezer Whiley Gibbs
C: Boekhurst Cripps Murphy Simpson

HF: Thomas Henderson Menzel
F: Casboult Walker

Int: Docherty Curnow Judd Tuohy

On the fringe: Carrazzo Bell Everitt Smith Dick DVR White Graham

I get the feeling that Clem Smith may play round one. The kid is confident, has some mongrel and if he can have a good pre season could easily slot straight in in a BP.

I would expect a mature guy picked at 19 to play straight away.

Docherty will play midfield. Started there last year until ran out of puff but with a full pre season will do really well. Big improver.

If Jacksch not fit White will fill his spot. Just leave Kruezer in the ruck with the odd spell up forward.

Good depth with players fighting for spots will make a difference.

Issue for me is still average ball use and lack of real elite level players (Gibbs excluded)
