Haha thanks for the credit Dane.

After his spell as a back pocket, I'd much rather us have Sheehan in defence and Buckley in the forward line and then spells in the midfield. He'd bring the pressure, the run and has a nose for a goal and a pass.

With another pre-season, he'll be good to run out 20+ games for us.

Everyone thought Jay Schulz was a spud at Richmond.... Now look at him
Same goes for Teddy Richards and many more

Liam Jones is a good get. Perfect project for Mick

For every Ted Richards and Jay Schultz there are endless numbers of ordinary players who changed clubs and remained ordinary players. Jones is a skinny meek forward with good hands who struggled to get a regular game with a side worse than us that has no key forwards. If he comes our way so be it, but we should give up very little for him. There will be good players available through most of the draft, not many outside the first 20 but enough, and certainly better players than Liam Jones. At some stage we have to back ourselves to get really good players in the draft instead of taking the safe recycled road to mediocrity. Every player that gets mentioned as a Carlton possible suddenly becomes a star. I don't know whether this is considered a good draft but if it is load up on draft picks and get at least a few of them right. It is what Hawthorn did in the mid 2000s while we filled the side with recycled players.

Would be upset if Jaksch chose saints over us..
Just hope we don't give up pick 6 for him.
What about a straight swap, Robinson for gorringe?? Then we can off load warnock for a packet of alpine cigarettes...

Agree with this. Sheehan in defence, Buckley as a crumbing forward who can push up the ground and help in the midfield.

Will also be really bummed if Jaksch chooses the Saints over us. I can't see why he would for any reason other than coin. With Waite's departure hopefully we can manage things so we can procure his services but still keep below TPP so we have money in the piggy bank to throw the kitchen sink at Tom Boyd next year.

Rumours Sam Reid wants out of the Swans.
Would we be interested ?
Reckon we should be!!
Pick 6 for Reid and Membrey
2nd Rounder and Robbo to GWS for Jaksh.
Just a thought.

Reid is massively overrated.

All athlete, no footballer.

Plays 4th string forward at the swans and can't get near it.

They only kick it to him inside 50 on average twice a match.

On what basis?

Reid kicked 31 goals as the main banana in his third year of senior football (before Tippett and Franklin got there). Injury riddled year in 2014.

Think there's better upside to Jones, and likely to be on far less coin for a third tall.

I think Jones best is better. Just needs consistency.

I've never been excited by Reid to be honest.

..I agree, Reid is double the player that Jones is.. .reid may cost too much to get/pay, but Jones is a list clogger..

Only a hunch but I reckon the penny has dropped with Jones and he wants to sever all ties with the WB and show us all what he's capable of.
Also a hunch that MM will have him playing out of his skin next year.
No facts, just a strong gut feeling.
Lots of media reports about player dissaitsfaction at the Bullies. Some players just don't like their coach and just aren't inspired by them.
For a second rounder, he's worth a punt I reckon

Barrett hinting on trade radio that players unhappy @ Macca because he coaches for development not to win.

Maybe Jones wants to win?

Maybe Jones should learn to kick and run before criticising the coach ...

Dunno about Reid, always struck me as a bit of a front runner, we've just lost one injury plagued tall forward don't want another.

It seems like there is a lot of unrest in the Scraggers camp, not a bigfan of Jones, but he may want to prove a point to his old coach. Jones would have to come a fair bit cheaper than Reid too.

Similar approach to last year in trade & drafts.
Trades for 21-24 yr olds.

Wont pay too much for trades - would rather take picks to draft.

Several clubs interested in Jeffy.
