It would never happen in my household, but it doesn't mean that they don't feel the pain of losing. Yes, the problem is that we have no charismatic stars and a lack of the younger variety to boot. What can we do to look appealing to kids?? Maybe find younger celebrities who barrack for the Blues, I've given up on dullards/introverts like Murphy/Gibbs/Juddy helping with the cause. :hitcomputer:

could be right on the charismatic player point

My eldest son loved Fev when he was there

Then he loved watching Betts...

when he was there

Was at Coles earlier today and they've got little AFL figurines to collect.
Adelaide's player is Eddie Betts.

...did you see any figurines of Daisy Thomas, or didn't you get a chance to look in the barby doll section?

...bit harsh, I know, and I may need to withdraw that last little bit of "nastiness", but someone must pay for this rotten week, and daisy is as good as anyone

(he's ex Collingwood anyway, so I can be excused for not accepting him fully in the number 39 yet. We will see how everything goes, perhaps I may withdraw the remark in August next year or when things brighten up a little bit - like when infractions are served upon the drug lords from Tullamarine)

I've been giving this a lot of thought.

You can spin some positives and life lessons to your kid.

You can explain that everything is cyclical. The club can't be forever stuck in the stupidity and mentality of mediocrity that it has for a while now. And by supporting the team when things aren't great, the taste of our success when it comes will be all that much richer and sweeter.

When things turn for us, every man and his dog will want to be on the bandwagon. Well, the best seats are reserved for the ones who got on when no-one else would.

This life lesson was brought to you by the KK Academy of Life...

I wasnt going to spend a cent on Carlton until we make the Top 4 after a decade of digging deep and paying for poor performance, but I'm pleased to say that I bought 4 of the jumpers with the CLASSIC LOGO because the kids really wanted them as they feel that's the best looking jumper.

We were coming to Melbourne this weekend to join our buddies and watch the Blues play the Demons. Cancelled that because that's not the game I want to watch, so we're spending more money the following weekend to see what the players do and what the game plan looks like against an up and coming bunch of kids with heart and what seems an exciting brand of footy.

@#$%&! I'm weak.

I'll barrack for Carlton forever, but I dont know if the kids could handle another couple of years of mediocrity, having seen mediocrity since they were born.

I'm feeling the kids' sense of loyalty but I think we're getting closer to the Tipping point for them.

It's too late, one of my sons has abandoned footy all together....

I suppose I should be grateful, at least he didn't swap teams and barrack for the bombers or the pies...

I may look at another sport to follow too - at least i could get something out of a game when they lose.
