Hope the pre season comments about training discipline and a new spirit of excellence hold true. Hope our game plan doesn't rely on 30 perfect passes around the boundary and then a lob to a 4 on one. Hope we defend the middle. Hope we see explosive run and tackles that stick and that don't involve all our players tackling leaving none on the outside. Hope Waite doesn't do something that gets him reported in the first 5 minutes. Hope Ellard and Curnow get reward for effort. Hope someone unexpected stands up and gives us something to be excited about. Hope Warnocks stats see him reach double figures in something other than hitouts. Hope our forwards kick straight.

Hope we win convincingly, passionately and ruthlessly...

Quietly confident we'll take control and overcome a decent arm wrestle tonight. Really keen to see Thommo take this game by the scruff of the neck, grab Murphy and say 'follow me.' This game is all about him proving all the naysayers wrong, Collingwood flogs, the media and iffy Carlton supporters. Really expecting him to have a blinder.

Suddenly I'm excited we're playing tonight.

Right now the list looks to bat a bit deeper than it has for a few years.

But overall still lots of good-ordinary players. Sure some better than others but no real game-busters.

We need three or four to really step up to top quality this year to be any threat for top four.

Fingers crossed a few of the boys find a new level of performance this season.
