I noted with pride the induction of the 100th Australian V.C. winner today, Cameron Baird.

My first thought was that I wondered if he was related to Dougie Baird who was a favourite of watchers of the 2's in the late 60's early 70's

Further investigation {Bluseum) suggests that Cameron was in fact our Doug's son.

A proud moment for the Carlton community.

As someone who served for more than a decade anyone who has been awarded a VC is deservedly treated as a hero.

They are not given out easily and only after the highest levels of bravery are displayed.

Cpl Cameron Baird I thank you and salute you.

Major C.J. Knight (ret.)

Have a number of good mates in 2RAR and have nothing but the utmost respect for them - Very sad whenever we loose one of them.
