A friend of mine was killed by a car about 15 years ago. His sister was abducted from her bedroom when she was about 4 and was never seen again. Double tragedies like that are absolutely heartbreaking.

totally horrible for the o'connors

as a parent of 3 young kids, this made me feel physically ill

And even worse, they spent 4 days waiting not being able to do anything. It's a large and very close knit family too, and these events have impacted many people, including cousins, uncles, aunts, etc.

thanks for bringing all of this to our attention Moshe, while this is incredibly sad, without TC members like yourself, we would probably not be aware of this, and it shows the true spirit of TC members is intrinsically good, despite all the negativity of other topics

I was at res college with Erin, have known her since we were 18. After leaving college she lived in a share house near mine for years.
She was incredibly hard working, dedicated and passionate about looking after people.
Erin was also very popular, had a wonderful sense of humor and was a very supportive friend.
This news is absolutely devastating, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

I believe a fund has been set up by the northern players to support her family, info on their webpage

The whole family basically camped out at the hospital for the whole week, but she never regained consciousness. "they've never seen anything like my family" was the quote.

Funeral is on Friday. Her uncles have started a trust fund for the parents as has the footy club. And the test cricketers wore black armbands fir her on Saturday.

It'll be a pretty tough Christmas for them I reckon.

The whole Sports Training community in Australia are in mourning - it's a very close knit community.

Our sincerest condolences to the family.

Any chance of a minute's silence before the game on Saturday ?

Or at least black armbands?
