Didn't you like the Blue Print? Thought we copied the Hawks well.

Well the Blue Print was just full of motherhood statements.

The 2011 Blue Print says 2 Premierships by 2015. That's next year 2014 and the year after that 2015

We all know that will not happen...

If there were board elections you could just vote them out but seeing as elections are a thing of the past I guess you're stuck with them.

No one stands for election, we have no election. Like Governments, we get the board we deserve.

Here’s a bit of perspective about the modern success of the Mighty Navy Blues.

I’m 46 years old. In my lifetime I’ve been privileged to have experienced eight Carlton premierships, five of which I can actually remember.

1968, 70, 72, 79, 81, 82, 87 & 95.

Born in 1967, seven of these premierships were won by the time I was 20 years old. A golden period in our rich history, no doubt.

In the last 26 years we’ve won one flag. One ……..
So whilst I’m contentedly thinking how successful we’ve been in my lifetime, the reality is that for well over half of my life we’ve won just the one premiership.

Wow …………..

 Couldn't of summed it up any better and I feel exactly the same.

You and I are of the same age group. We grew up in an era where we were the best. We simply didn't tolerate mediocrity. It was about Premierships and nothing else. Not only that we backed it up.

It is frustrating and embarrassing to have been watching this club over the past 10-15 years. It will go down as the worst period in our great history. No flags, wooden spoons etc.

The Carlton of the past would never of tolerated the mistakes that have happened. You were good enough or you were out. Sticks, McKay, Hughes, Rogers, Coutts, Smorgon, Ratten wouldn't of got a look in let alone been able to stay in their roles for long.

I believe we are slowly on the way back but a lot more has to be done. I am happy with our coaching set up and we have a great facility. Communications and Marketing are on the improve.

The key for me is what will happen when Sticks stands down (hopefully) at the end of the year. We need a gutsy, smart business savvy person to take over. That won't be swayed by personality and will make the hard decisions and get the "BEST".

Only then can we get back to the Carlton of old.

Their lawyers are busy suing everyone.

Demetriou, Caro, Gillon, ASADA, WADA, The Weapon, Dank, The former Federal Government, .....

Meanwhile little Golden boy Hirdy has been sent on an overseas study program.

God bless him :)

The only way back to greatness for Carlton is to wipe the board clean and install a new constitution and board of go getters . Incremented change of directors will still take generations of time which we all do not have.....

Seems to me the club has recently been very busy setting up this new (massive) pokies venture.

This has no doubt been a distraction from the pursuit of winning a game of footy or two - but all going well should deliver a significant advantage on our competitors eventually.

For everything on the footy side we look like we're playing catch-up. Getting all of these guys in from Collingwood because they had some success. We certainly aren't out there in front of the pack setting the trends - just following them.

We need to be finding the next Malthouse/Buttifant - not the old ones.

If there was one area I wish the club would just saturate with money that is the recruitment/development area.

Recruiting then losing the guy from Geelong is a big setback - especially as he left because he didn't think anyone else took the job seriously enough or worked hard enough in that dept... allegedly.
