Well done Simmo!

Thankfully the people who wanted to drop him early in the season didn't get what they wanted.

His first few rounds were not that worthy of a senior spot of a team vying for a top 4 finish. He lost his pace.

Thank god he had it in him to find form and speed. He's an outright champion.
MM's move to backline helped him no doubt. Hat off to MM too.

Great result.
IOne interesting thing is that players like Gibbs, Kreuzer, Judd and Eddie finished out of the placings (no matter the reasons). We can only hope that they can lift next year. A small lift from all of those means a couple more close finishes or wins. That puts us into the middle of the eight.

Had a good night last night. Congrats to Simmo. Well deserved. A lot of players showed up in splits, crutches etc. It was like a Hspital ward there at the Palladium

Had about 15 Crownies to get my $200 worth. Then hit te tables with the wife and won $1,000 playing Roulette. Not bad. I was half caked so that why I probably did OK. Was just throwing Chips all over the table and they kept coming back

With the benefit if hindsight, it would have been a mistake to drop him though?

No doubt he was out of form early on, the point at the time though was you give good players the chance to work through form slumps.

Did anyone hear Maher and Watson on SEN ? They implied he got ditched from Carltons B & F. Watson said you can come and join me at Essendons (Some type of function). Andy said are you serious ? I would love too.

He then said he was busy that night. It was a bit of shit stirring.

Congrats Simo.

Proves what I, and Im sure others, were saying at the start of the year - HEART AND SOUL of this club and should have been made Captain, FULL STOP. Fair dinkum, if the rest of this club played with the heart Simpson does we would be a team, at the very least , that we can be proud of.

Simo and Scotland our best players of the last decade.
