Leave club to Edelstein they deserve each other

The first of three more embarrasssing performances for us.

Richmond are my second team and I will enjoy barracking for them in the finals.

As for us, not even competitive, we could turn it around but I don't know where it will come from.

V79 wash your mouth out? doesn't 1973 resonate? Or was it 6years to early for you?

OK - pretending that this means anything still...

Playing to our strengths (tongue firmly in cheek...):

* - Have someone go to Jackson. He's been in great form - been smashing opposition mids running forward and making them look unaccountable. Reckon he'd have a field day on Murphy. Bring Robbo back in to go with him.

* - Defensive tag on Houli. (Armfield?)

* - Cachia to Cotchin, Curnow to Deledio. Reckon you send Zac Tuohy to Dustin Martin and try and exploit his lack of defensive pressure.

* - In light of nothing really coming through to replace Watson, would switch Walker and Henderson. Richmond have struggled all year and traditionally against the smaller forward lines. Tough call on the third tall. McInnes smashed McGuane in the corresponding game last year, Bootsma would be stiff to miss. Then again, Jarrad Grant kicked four on him. Jarrad Grant!

* - Reluctantly keep Warnock in ahead of Rowe for above reason, and figure if Waite's due for his fortnightly injury, Kreuzer or Henderson up forward is probably a better outcome than Casboult in the square/rucking half a game.

* - Would like to see Gibbs go in the middle, if only to keep some of the lesser types in their midfield accountable - Ellis and Conca got their hands on it a bit. Let them run with Gibbs. Realistically, he'll probably go to Jake King and we'll all cry a little for a week.

Reckon we're half a chance to come out firing. Had the wood over Richmond for too long, smalls will trouble them, they weren't that great against Brisbane on Saturday either. Either side under 15.5 is value.

B McInnes Jamison Tuohy
HB Simpson Henderson Scotland
C Curnow Cachia Robinson
HF Armfield Walker Menzel
F Betts Waite Yarran
R Kreuzer Gibbs Murphy
INT Graham McLean Warnock Bootsma (sub)

In: McInnes, Kreuzer, Robinson, Graham
Out: Judd, Watson, Garlett, Rowe

We're going to get bent over and reamed from behind by the media this week so we'll perform well. Win the next two then watch us, when it matters most, to play at our insipid best in round 23 against Port. That would be Carlton .

Put cachia robbo bell in the middle and tell them to hurt as many Richmond players as possible! Remember just before the finals we played the cats , we beat them on the scoreboard but they killed us on the field . Milburn took out silvagni, Bradley, ratten and we bombed out of the finals! Lets do this the next 3 weeks

Expect Wallsy to write an article in the leadup about Richmond not belonging in the finals....

Sarcasm? :yikes:

No my late Uncle Danny barracked for Richmond and I like the Tiger's supporters character who have lived through the lost years. And I respect the rivalry we have with them.

never, ever forget or forgive that thug balme on Geoff southby in the 1973 GF

Same issue as round 1. Who does he play on?

Too small for Vickery or McGuane. Not quick enough for King or Edwards.

Better options up forward too I reckon.

In 2010, we made a straight Swap with Richmond in which we all were laughing and saying thank GOD we got rid of him... how dumb of Richmond to take him?

Grigg............> Richmond for
Collins...........> Carlton..
...

Who had the last laugh?

Grigg was an average player who needed to some time to develop. He is now playing regular football and has developed into a good running midfielder who can kick goals.

Collins was an average player and a hack. He went backwards by getting delisted into the Rookie list and is certain to be removed completely by end of year.

That is just one chapter of the miserable Recruitment that we never seem to get right :(

I Pray for Malthouse to take charge of Recruiting and clean up our list. He has a proven good record of recruiting average players and turning them into very good players.

I am excited and I have full faith in him that he will bring some decent players to Carlton. However the damage has been done, and now it is a reality that its going to take us another 3-4 years to see some results.

Grigg decided to walk out of the club and was going to Richmond via the Pre Season draft - not a lot our recruiting dept could have done in the circumstances.
