I don't think Murphy is soft.

What we define as hardness has changed a little over the years, you don't need to raise your elbows in 2013 to prove that you're hard. For example, gut running is a good sign of toughness IMO.

Whilst I'd certainly agree that he puts his head over it and takes his fair whacks. If you're going by that definition, I'd question his relevance to that claim.

Yes. Needs to stop playing like he's scared of hurting himself. Once you're out there you're fit to play. I don't imagine the good captains in the league would play soft just because they're vulnerable.

Didn't have a good feel about him playing tonight.

Another dumb Carlton decision.

One of the worst for a while. Just exactly what difference was this awe inspiring captain going to make?? What difference has a fit Murphy made to any game this year????

Same. Both he & Carrazzo were well below par. But no excuses.

How many of you would take pick 1 for Murphy if it were offered?

I'd even give them a favourable swap of later picks to finalise it.

..not sure i would to be honest.. ..has been playing injured too much lately, this season and last year especially.. ..but when proper fit he's our best mid, and after him there's not much that's even close to him, except an aging and battered Judd that's still who we look to as soon as Murphy's out of form or injured.... ..has his flaws, but they're more endemic of our culture, vs playing flaws that are incurable..

..i think we're suffering from number 1 withdrawls..
