I reckon we've done alright with Walker.

Should've taken Stanton.

Also interesting to note that we ended up with 2 good footballers out of that list.

And that should've been the case without needed to trade with Melbourne years later.

I did. But what's wrong with that? This is a business. It's not some game we're playing here. He had injury issues, off-field issues and still had currency....how much we'll never really know - but we know that Port Adelaide once made serious plays (and would have paid serious overs) for Jordan Russell and Shaun Hampson. Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it?

There's no right or wrong in thinking and suggesting someone should be traded. It happens. If you can get a deal done that you think is going to make you a better football club - then you have a serious think about doing it.

Well ... I put $30 on AW at 1000/1 for the Brownlow. Hows that for a vote of confidence (in the player .. not the coach .. )

GO AW!

Love the guy. Brilliant player. Clearly winning our b+f. Has been terrific since they finally stopped stuffing around with his shoulders 3 years ago. I thought half back flank may be his spot when he dismantled an in form Aaron Davey many years ago. He can really play anywhere.

I mostly like his self belief - he's one guy who backs himself time and again. A much needed commodity. I hope (fingers crossed) he plays out his career they way he's gone the last few years.

Credit to himself.

The game he played against Hawthorn at Etihad and a game against Geelong at the G where he ran off Tom Hawkins all day were the ones that had me convinced half-back was his role.

I think he always thought it too, but didn't have faith in his shoulders and that's the only reason he asked to be played forward.

Now he has the confidence back, he's back to his best position.

Got nothing to do with hindsight. You don't trade or even throw players out that can play the game. Some were willing to take a 2nd + rounder for him. :banghead: You can all stand on your high horses now but only a few stood up for him in here. McLean is another and now LUCAS.....the list is endless with the usual's.

I love hearing good stuff about Walker.
He's a beauty. Always been a favourite.
I've met him with and without kids and he's a bottler.
King of the kids.

I smashed Carrots, mercilessly. I am rapt he turned it around, but the criticism of Carazzo was justified at the time. About 2 years ago, he came to the realisation that there were limits to his ability. Once he stopped trying to play beyond them, he became a great footballer.

Walker on the other hand always had the talent, but was held back by a number of things; injuries and trust in his body being paramount. I think we might finally be seeing the realisation of the player we hoped we had drafted 10 years ago
