Our bottom 6 players are nowhere near good enough to be in a top 8 side:
Hampson, Joseph, Davies, Lucas, Armfield, Touhy, Garlett, (Yes that is 7) and does not include newbies such as Rowe and Buckley. - Tonight we had at least 1/3 of our side that would not get a game at any true top 8 side.
I have not even included the likes of Simpson, Robbo or Yarran who would not get a game on current form.

Our depth with players like Bootsma, Diugan, Warnock, Casboult, Collins, Bell, Ellard, Bell etc... is laughable.

Give Watson, Mitchell, McCarthy, Buckley, Menzel et al... a go.

I've heard it all now.

Until each team plays each other the same number of times, the AFL, as a fair dinkum competition, cannot be taken seriously.

Your main premise is fair enough, but I wouldn't include Garlett, Yarran, Robbo, Touhy or even Lucas (he's frustrating no doubt) on that list. Simmo is a disaster this year, who would have thought.

But you're right. Our list is not as good as many of us have led ourselves to believe. Just too many to carry.

To those who question the inclusion of garlett - I will simply say would he get the role of small forward at sydney (Jetta), hawks (rioli), Geelong (Varcoe, christensen, Motlop), West coast (hams), Pies (Blair, Elliott, Krakour), Freo (Ballentyne), etc.... The answer is pretty obvious NO. it doesnt mean he isnt an ok player BUT he isnt the walk up start he is at carlton.

you can do the same exercise with Touhy, Lucas etc... I

It's not so much our bottom 6, it's our senior players as well who are not giving us much of a chop at all.

Simmo and Carrazo have had shockers so far this year, Simmo should be dropped.

Judd has had a mixed bag, ditto Murphy though he is improving.

Gibbs is way too hot and cold, goes missing when teams are on long scoring streaks.

I feel Jamo and Lachie have battled manfully in defence.

Work ethic is simply not good enough.
