Can't believe we were overrun after looking winners for 3 qtrs. Big K dominated the knock outs and love his work ethic but he barely took a mark and big Q had 10 possessions in the last qtr to Big K's 1. If you'd told me before the game that Jolly wd go down early, Jamo would hold Cloke, Judd and Murph would have better of Swan and Pend'bry most of the game and Big K wd utterly dominate the knocks, I wd have put my house on us winning, lucky i didn't. I think our inexperienced half backs cost us. I like Boots getting games into him, but he probably needs further development in the 2s. Zach seems to have lost his run and Davies is a battler. Laidler had a shocker and looked way out of form. Can only play either Bell or McLean not both, and sub needs pace to exploit opponents tired legs. No run at all from back half. Liked Rowe's game, looked agile and to have good spring. And Levi didn't do much, but competed well ag a good opponent and is about the only big guy who looks like he might be a reliable contested mark. I think he is three years away but worth perservering with. Big forwards take a long while. I thought Lucas wasn't bad, but needs to make tackles stick. I think realistically we are a middling side. MM was brought in for the quick fix but that rarely works. At the end of Pagan's era was when we needed to be making the right coaching and recruiting appointments, but we didn't and we are unlikely to win a flag before GC and GWS start to dominate the comp. If we had made thoughtful, intelligent appointments in 2007 and got our off field structure right we wouldn't be an almost side.

..if he's constantly being double teamed and we're hoping he can tap to another player, than we're just going in circles.. ..his contested marking is good, his ability to crash packs [and hurt ppl] is great, but if he's not super super fit, doesn't have smart fwd running patterns, and is playing alongside other up and comers,, he's always gonna be up against it.. ....and there's zero improvement in his kicking over an entire off-season.. ..no adjustments in technique at all..

Not prepared to stick my neck out about his kicking but I believe he is (and will) improve in the other areas. He's still very inexperienced. Be patient!
Consider that Levi being double teamed might have something to do with Hampson and Rowe having some success in the last 2 games; not to mention the little blokes.

If teams are happy for Judd to have the ball in his hands why do they still hang of him at every stoppage?

We had a crack but pannicked in the last, when the class of Pendles and Swan destroyed us. Judd tries hard but really doesn't hurt sides anymore esp around the ground - Pies happy for him to have it in his hands for mine. More time up Fwd for Judd in his twilight for mine.

Davies not AFL standard, plain and simple. Boots will be good but not ready yet. Tuohy just going at the minute, and with Laidler not 100% it hurt us. Those calling for the re-call of Joseph.....please :yikes: And not sure what's wrong with Simmo but he's lost his mojo big time

The wings are crowded now, they used to be wide open for him to run along. It'll take a while for some players to adjust, others will drop off or move to other positions. Simmo to the back line works for me, he'll be able to find some space again running off half back.

When Mick came to the club, he told Simpson he had to 'man-up'. Simpson thought this meant growing a beard. Simpson in defence.....lol

F*&% I hate that beard.... it looks F$%3n ugly, it surely couldn't help his running or balance..... What the F&^%$ ...... Just shave the f^%^n thing off FFs

Still seen as our prime mover although Murph is probably more so now, and that's why they scrag him all day (with few frees paid which is a legacy of his old days when he used to get a few ?).

I usually go to the Coll games with a couple of Filth mates and after a game a few years ago where Judd got 39 possies or so, and we lost by plenty, one commented that Juddies possies didn't really hurt them. I was there on Sunday, and largely, Judd didn't hurt them. No doubt its better that Judd has the ball than the opposition, but his once devastating influence has certainly waned.

..as i've said elsewhere, i'm not averse into getting games into our under-developed kpps.. ..but fast tracking them isn't leaving a bunch of inexperienced kpps playing alongside eachother.. ..it's having Bolt playing as 2nd fiddle with a more experienced kpp being the main target.. ..an inexperienced kpp playing CHF without senior help is one of the toughest gigs in footy..

..it's not an efficient way of development in my opinion..
