I know it is early but after watching the Adelaide game last night ,Paul Bower does not inspire confidence when he has the ball. As some one pointed out "rabbit in the headlights" stuff. He has always been like that so will be interesting to see how he develops this year.

What exactly is it about Bower that keeps this type comment for propping regularly?
Is it the look in his eyes, or maybe the way he keeps his mouth open whilst running and coralling an opponent?

True that he doesn't come across as the most confident player with the ball in hands, but he's hardly a "rabbit in the headlights" as he does take the game on.

He gives the impression of indecision and it was evident on Saturday. It just seems he puts himself in situations where he seems rushed and indecisive.

So far, after recovering from injury and actually getting a decent amount of match simulation under his belt, he's played an intraclub that was shits and giggles, and pre-season games that we treated with similar disdain.

Those kind of games place defensive players under pressure. Tuohy looked terrible for the most part; people are heaping it on Watson for mostly the wrong reasons. Yet nobody's noticed the connection...

Didn't Touhy have a hip problem which is why he was subbed off?

yes it does!
but at some stage you need to draw the line.
we tanked years ago!
a knot me those players aroud then are not part of this group!
we would not even have four of our best performers if not for the tanks!

but that was years ago and the club is in a different era now!

no excuses for not gaining ruthless behaviour and competitive combative traits today that we are no longer a basket case!

we are just too cute!

gain some balls!

and this too cute thing is found under a number of rocks around the club!

let's get some substance about us and toughen up!

prove to our players the opposition and everyone else we are the real deal!

Some truth here but having said that, it's too early to call Synbad.
Stuff up this year and I'll be joining you, just like I was pissed off after the WC & Doggies loses. Destroyed our season.

Toughness in mind.

The game against StKilda last year they won... we backed off the pedal so we dont get injuries in finals.
We acted like we didnt care!
There is no room for not smashing StKilda... after everything they have done to us over the ast decade... we had to make that game a stomping!!!...
We had to show StKilda and the comp that the stars are realligning ... that the competition must take notice !!!
Manchester United and the 'old' Carlton football cllub won games before they even started the game.

Ruthless approach and uncompromising footy and mindset will win flags.
Not its raining we cant play....
.... or its hot... we cant play.....
.. or someone is injured whinge whinge whinge...
or we shuld have won that game...Kouta about the Geelong game last year

When the heat is turned up... (West Coast in the finals... Shit club.... previous seasons wooden spooners and beat us twice last year)... we wen to water and allowed them 7 or 8 unanswered goals...

You can bet everyone will be trying to be a West coast this year and rise up the ladder.
You can bet StKilda will be more confident against us cos they won the last one.. instead of losing their last 3 straight..
... and you can bet we will be a marked team and be hunted this season...

Supporters should give this club no excuses...
There is a job to be done!!!.. win a flag or give an absolute effort dying to achieve this..

No more .. "too young"
no more... excuses....
no more baby steps...!!!
Were going to be overtaken by thinking improvement in small increments..
Or the absolute ludicrous plan of
a) make finals
b) win home final
c)win a final
d)make top 4
e) win won game in a prelim
f)play off in a GF
g) win it

There is never any moment to live in like the present moment...

You can waste time looking back at the past reminiscing.. and you certainly are wasting time waiting for time to pass so you can get to tomorrow.

Hawthorn won their flag cos they took their chances when they could.. not cos they did bay steps.....

 :fight: love it amen
