Siren. Adelaide win by 9.

Faded badly with our skills becoming sloppy in both matches, but we were taking it easy. We'd rag doll both of these teams in the season proper.

I know it means nothing but it is still a test to see someone's ability to think through a situation. Bower's decision making is hopeless. Just not good enough. Your heart is in your mouth the whole time.

Nominate an example please.

Good day out. Plenty to like in Dale, Buckley, Casboult, Carter.

Armfield better watch his back, as a fringe player he was quite poor today.

Casboult was very quiet save for 5 or so minutes from 3 quarters of play, and he had to push right up into midfield to get going.

4 possessions between the two matches; you blokes are over-exaggerating his play.

oh noes we lost both NAB games

While the result means nothing in the long run we saw today that players like Hampson, Kruezer, Henderson, Betts and Thornton look like they will improve on their efforts from 2011 which will result in Carlton rising further up the ladder in 2012.

Put a line through these players for round 1 though barring any injuries.

Bower
Watson
Russell
Mclean

In the first game, kicking it into the man on the mark in the last few minutes which created a turnover and caused a goal and in the second game, getting free kick, playing on and missing target only to get rebounded to his opponent -- result goal! I also didn't want to mention the 9 pointer his opponent kicked when he went halfhearted at the ball because the unusual bounce probably did him in. I wasn't impressed with his output today and would be surprised on that effort if he plays much footy in the firsts.

Bower had the ball for about 10 seconds and only had one option in the end. Probably the heat but very few worked to give him options.

Thought he played pretty well.

Harsh; fair; wrong; wrong.

Skill errors in the heat in the first pre-season match? Gasp.

I'd be surprised if anyone would be picked for first team footy on the efforts of today. Any player over the age of 20 would know now is not the time to impress, but the time to stick to team rules and run the rotations as instructed. You see blokes like Bootsma, Kerr & Dale pop up because they want to impress the coach with their skill set, at the expense of their set role.
