I kinda thought most people could have put two and two together there and just lumped me in the "short contract please cause he's got a massive durability query and we don't want to be left holding the salary can, again" camp.
But that's ok. In the interest of clarity, I'm happy to spell out that I think he'll get on the park for ~33 of those 66 games (i.e equivalent to one and a half seasons), and that's $1.3m / 1.5 = $866k, which is a lot of money, particularly given he'll likely spend 2014 sitting in the stands while he's being paid most of it.
Ok I am going to playing this guessing game.
My guess is that he might get close to 1.3 over 3 years if he performs and stays fit. The club might even try to have incentives like where he finishes in the B&F, how many games he plays and whether or not he gets suspended. I am guessing that if he plays 33 out of 66 games he won't get his incentives which means he misses out on 300k.
All of sudden I am guessing he might get 250k, 250k and 500k or 333k per year.
I am guessing, but nightcrawler I leave you with a question.
Do you think Waite has any performance criteria in his contract?
