Yep no more collingwood this ...collingwood that. It is making me sick. They have done as much as hawthorn and it took them 3 times as long and a fake GF after choking in the real one.

Its all about Carlton from here on !

You and some others in this thread are delusional if you think it took those cocksuckers twelve years.

They were bottom in 1999 and then with a team of hacks, they played in the 2002/03 GF's and nearly pulled off the first one.

They then stripped back the list, took their medicine and rebuilt with a purpose. When did that start? About five years ago by my reckoning.

Do Like these pieces of shit?

No.

Do I even respect the Filth?

Hell no.

Can we learn siomething from our enemy?

Yes we can (sounding like Obama now).

The scum started rebuilding AFTER us and have won a flag BEFORE us...how can that be so?

Someone here mentioned that they tanked to get Thomas and Pendlebury...errr, didn't we have the picks before them? At first I thought Murphy was a master stroke...now I think he is a midget who is capable, but hardly a five star mid that will propel the team to the flag. How about Kennedy? We disposed of him along with picks to get Judd - so we obviously didn't rate him as indespensible.

Yarran ahead of Sidebottom and Beams?

Isn't that Ben Reid the son of a former Carlton player?

Isn't Brad Dick the nephew of Syd Jackson?

Does that dufus Wayne Hughes even know what he is doing?

The mind boggles...

hahaha great stuff.

The penny seems to have dropped if the appointment of a quality developer of youth in Alan Richardson is anythingto go by.

You make it sound as if Stephen was knocked back for a job he applied for. The Club wasn't hiring so there was never any job on offer. Such is Life.

Collingwood were not hiring either. He knew somebody on the Collingwood recruiting team and they put a good word in for him because he has a very good eye for detail and is willing to put in the time. Derek Hine has trust in his staff so he interviewed Stephen and obviously liked what he heard. Collingwoods gain, our loss. The first step to recruiting is to build up a good network.

We broke the rules and that has cost us, but we all know that.

Here is the last 11 drafts from the Pies - I have dropped out delisted picks. Find the lot at Footywire.com

Pies have benefited from some clever drafting of rookies but missed on some like Lovett-Murray and Pods, Father son also helped as did tanking - Fraser, Didak and Thomas.

Like all Premiership clubs they have worked the system, some have cheated Essendon* & Carlton, Some have merged - Brisbane, Some have extra money in the Cap - Brisbane & Sydney, Some hid player - Port Adelaide and West Coast, Some have Father sons - Geelong. Some had an overly strong zone - North Melb.

In my estimation are at about Pies 2005 - But the AFL has screwed us, by taking our picks for GC and GWS, we would have really benefited from another few top 10 picks. I guess with what the AFL takes with one hand they will give back with free agency.

We have lost nothing off field we have employed the best available. What we lack is onfield talent. Once you have that in spades, other clubs respect you. Too many clubs like Hawthorn, Collingwood, North, Freo and Swans don't respect us, but that is our fault.
