I received an email from Carlton FC Membership [MEMBERSHIP@CARLTONFC.COM.AU] on 2 Sept offering me "the easiest way to renew your membership for 2011" (plus the chance to win various prizes).
I opted in, assuming my membership category would remain the same as it was in 2010 (can't remember what it was called, but I only paid $80 ... mainly a show of support & the best option for my circumstances). When I received my latest credit card statement I'd been charged $169 for my 2011 membership! I've just emailed the Membership group & asked "what went wrong?" I hope to hear back in the next day or two, but would be interested to hear if anyone here has had a similar experience, or can explain why this happened.

I'm hoping that a measured response gets me the result I want. If not?

The CFC membership department is useless!!!! I've had problems with them the last 3 seasons,seems nothing has changed!!!

As long as this (fingers crossed, a small hiccup) can be worked out, I'm there for the long haul Nick.

I just got a response from the Membership dept & they told me that "2011 memberships are not on sale yet so the membership department won’t be taking the Carlton Advance payment until November 26th". They offered to look into it further if I could send them a copy of my credit card statement.
I was looking thru' my diary to try & match up what I'd been doing around the time that $169 was debited from my card by a group called "At2 Carlton” when my husband piped up & said "Oh. That's the monies I paid to join the AT2 casting Web site." As he always uses his own card to pay for his stuff it never occurred to me to check with him!
I've since replied to their email & apologised for the mix up.
