Fair call but I disagree. I am so happy for the young man and any articles or big stories/career push he gets, I think adds a huge amount of positivity to our club. This guy was recruited because at the time the club wanted to think outside the square due to the SC penalties and 7 years later he is still on the list and getting better. He has become a very important player for our club (as has Simpson, our 1st pick in 02) for that reason alone. The more the club praise the Irishman, the better. His form won't diminish, he has been through too much and is too much of a workhorse for that to occur.

Like most, I had my doubts that he would get there but have always had a soft spot for him.

I remember walking up to him as I knew the rumours via TBV (he was in civvies - not sure he had joined in training then) and he looked at me very oddly when I asked for his autograph. ....I could tell he was thinking, "what the..?"

Still have it on my hat...full name, very readable, no number...Not sure how he signs now

Happy to concede it may not have been the first,...but it was V E R Y early!
