Not flag faves. But I'm guessing no-one else would be able to boast at having the scalps of Geelong, Collingwood and St Kilda all at the same time, that's for sure. Although everyone will just say they were "off" when we played them.

But it's gonna be a bloody tough task, this week alone is gonna be tough enough.

Well, when you add in Brisbane, Adelaide and Essendon* we've had to face six of last years top 8 in the first seven weeks.

A good win against this mob will gain us some respect.

Guess what they will say if we beat Coll on Sun? Exactly the same thing. So let it be and we can quietly go about our business of winning football games.

PS: A win this week and I think my trust in the playing group will be back.

Guys we lost to a shite Essendon*, and a team that just lost to the 2009 wooden spooners, not so long ago. I think Shaw has good reasons not to show us any respect. Most of you may have forgotten with the joy of the Geelong victory but I'm still very bitter about us losing to such a rubbish team and it'll take a lot longer to get that bitter taste out of my mouth.

I know that sounds very negative but that's just how I feel.

I happen to agree Andain. We 0-6 against Essendon*. This was not just another loss. It was a fantastic win against Geelong but we needed something like that the last 2 weeks after the Essendon* game.

and that includes two interestate trips.

ive said all along, if we can get to the half way mark of the season with a positive ratio we will have done well :-)

the thing i took from the cats game, is we can do it. what we have to do, is play that way every week. At the moment, we are still a young developing side and until we can do that week in week out, we havent taken the next step.

no point showing glimpses. we need to be far more consistent.

its what collingwood, to their credit does well. we should pants collingwood, across the board we have a better everything IMO, but it will be a struggle. why, becuase they are alot more consistent week to week, than we are.

at our best, we are better side than collingwood and should win (i.e. cats performance) at our worst, they will flog us by 10+ goals (i.e. our bombers performance)

that is where carlton needs to impove. you could argue that we are doing that, by only losing our two games by 19 & 20 points, where in the past that would have seen us get smashed, but we, as a side, need to be far more consistent from week to week to take the next step.

really looking forward to this game. we showed last week that we have the list, and ability to match it with the very best in the competition. our challenge now is to consistently match that high standard. Go Blues!!

I agree with ScottSaunders, we should pants this mob, but they play a far different
game to our opponents last week. The challenge week to week is to bring the same
intensity and desperation for 100 minutes plus and adapt to all opposition different
game styles, structures and playing personnel.
We are not quite as flexible as we could be at the moment, as in without Waite, without
Walker, they would just give us so many more options.
The great thing we are starting to see is pressure on blokes to perform as others are
now knocking down the door for spots in the team.

Blues by 19 points for me !!

the next three weeks are massive for us. it has serious potential to shape our finals for the year. if we can somehow win all three it would be superb and really set us up (playing the filth, saints and port)

this game is huge for us (and collingwood)

if we win and cats win as you would expect, there will be 5 teams on 4-2 (6 teams if WC and put the sword to Freo)

more than likely freo win

there will be

swans, saints, freo on 5-1
geelong, collingwood, carlton, brisbane, port on 4-2
western bulldogs, melbourne, north melbourne on 3-3

outside of that, i dont think anyside can really claim to be seriously looking at finals. history would suggest they are are no chance.

now, melbourne and north, you wouldnt think are going to make it, which leaves Western Bulldogs, who are a better side

i cant believe its round 6, and we are already having final defining games!!! What a season!!!

This has gone from a lets hope we win, to a must win game IMO with the way the season has panned out. And its the same for Collingwood. they need the win to keep contact with the top 4 group. massive game!!

go blues - brothers to run amok again. someone to smash Maxwell into next week (if he lines up on you Santy, straight to the goal line) blues by 24 points :-)

I am nervous as hell. One of these games, win and we look gold and maybe on track for top 4, loose and we might struggle to make the eight (with 2 difficult games to come).

I'm not sure why the game couldn't have been re-scheduled to start at 3.10pm. Idiots in charge. :screwy:

Well, here I am in Mexico again.
Just logged in to my sister-in-law's internet (unfortunately by cable as the wireless doesn't want to work yet) so in half an hour I will be listening to MMM or 3AW.
In the last two days I have slept about six hours so it will be a challenge staying awake until 2:00 a.m. local time. Good thing is my body still thinks it's 1:45 p.m.
I ak not nervous at all, maybe because I am so far away.
I hope the boys put on a good show and get up.
Good luck to Sauce.
Get on with it.
