The Spirit of Carlton are holding a luncheon before the big game on the 1st of April and seats are still available.

There will be some great guest speakers including Jimmy Buckley, Geoff Soutby, David Rhys-Jones and Val Perovic. This is a great chance to meet some of the greats of the CFC.

So why not make a day of it and go to the luncheon and then wander over to the game.

DATE: 1st of April 2010
TIME: 12 noon for 12.30 start
FINISH: 4.30pm
VENUE: The Southport Sharks Australian Football Club
Function Room, Musgrave Avenue Southport
COST: $135.00 per person or table of 10 for $1200.00
Includes 3 course meal, Beer, Wine, Softdrinks

For more details on how to pay download the flyer here: http://www.spiritofcarlton.com/soc/media/CFCSOC1410.pdf

Hope they run a shuttle bus for the hour long trip to the Gabba.

I've walked some fairly long distances after a few brews, but I think wandering from Southport to the Gabba is pushing the friendship a little.

Not sure they've thought this one through.

And yes, I'm sure there are CFC fans on the GC, but if they're that keen, I imagine they'd want to attend the game.

Apologies for making things so difficult to understand.

We thought it was quite self evident that the function was in surfers and the game in brisbane, since there is a three hour gap between the end of the function and the start of the game anyone could wander over to the game by car, taxi, waterski or helicopter with plenty of time to spare.

Indeed many of the speakers and guests at the function will be attending the game, so keep an eye out for Southby, Rhys-Jones, Buckley and Perovic at the game as well.

We will attempt to make things much clearer in further correspondence so that those unable to understand can comprehend the message as well as the other members of the carlton supporting community.

Yes, in fact there will be a bus that will take people from the gold coast to the game, it will leave at approximately 4:30pm and arrive at the Gabba at about 6pm.

The bus will wait at the game and after the game patrons can again board the bus back to the gold coast.

I hope this answers your query, if there are any more questions please let me know.

Looking less likely. Would have to catch a train to Robina at about 10.00am and then a bus to Southport to get the shuttle back to Brisbane in time for the game at 6pm.

The information sent to Qld members was pretty clear. Also suggested that you could watch the game at Southport if you couldn't get tickets to the match (or ended up too plastered to attend, ha ha). Can't make this one due to other arrangements but will plan to attend something similar if held again the next time the Blues play up here

First I've heard of it. I definitely would buy a ticket if it was at the Port Office.
